I've just received a new heat element for the drivers seat of my 2006 Disco with leather seats but it looks very long! It says part no. HGL500012 but looks bigger (longer) than the ones in any of the pictures I've seen on here.
Anybody got any thoughts on it? Has LR changed the design or am I worrying about nothing?

Can you believe it! After nearly 5 years I have finally got around to pulling the seats out.
Now my plan was to cheat! Swap the drivers and passenger seat pads over and hopefully, new(ish) foam base and working heated seat! (I never really take passengers so I am not too bothered about the passenger side working).
However, sods law intervenes! There is an extra (green) socket coming off the heated seat on the passenger side cushion. Pic below.
Anyone know what it does on the passenger side?

It might be the sensor for telling you when the passenger hasn't got his seatbelt on?
I swapped bases round and swapped the sensor also.Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

Cracked it! Seat pad sensor for the seatbelt. Happy to manage without this. Fitted and no error messages, bleeps or dash lights
