Hi All
Does anyone know what the best current discounts are?
I'm looking at a D4 3.0 GS - ideally with leather and heated seats - but could perhaps retro-fit the leather (and heat?).
BuyACar were offering 12+%, but are now down to just under 10% (about 9.7% on a std 3.0 GS with no extras).
Can anyone beat that?
NFU have extended their 5% offer until 30 April 2010.
Thanks D4 XS MY12 Galway

Heated front seats can be retrofitted like the D3 @ about £500 - leather is more expensive.

That's quite expensive, just for the heating. It comes for about £300 as an extra.
I've been told (by a main dealer) that they can get retro-fitted leather for about £900/950 and that it is as good, if not better than the oem.
Does a standard vehicle with leather have any additional leather bits, other than the seats themselves? I'm not talking about the higher spec models with premium leather. D4 XS MY12 Galway

I wonder how many it would take to get a decent deal...?
If it could then be topped up with 5% from NFU for a cost of £175...
I know the Dealer Principal of a LR dealership... maybe I'll ask him. D4 XS MY12 Galway

Come on ... there must be a way that a fair sized D4 discount could be secured if multiple purchases were made from a stealer! What about the earlier bulk buy possibility? Anyone interested?

I am very surprised by the lack of interest, as it makes sense for Group Purchase to secure a larger discount. Possibly should get it organised on a 3 monthly basis (to get the numbers up) with an upfront deposit to be paid at the end of the second month. Payment of a deposit should short out the "chaff from the wheat".

I wonder whether it's worth a 2nd try - with an eye catching subject header and maybe a time limit to concentrate people's minds - unless it's on-going once the 10 has been reached?
I wonder if they'd do a sliding scale? Perhaps 6% for 4, 7% for 6, 8% for 8 and 9% for 10+??! D4 XS MY12 Galway

Would anticipate more than a 10% discount if 10 ... or more ... cars were bought in a block! Appreciate the D4 has just been released last month, but come January it is quite likely sales of large 4X4's would drop. In such event, I expect an approach made to a large operator may bear fruit, but a small operator would look at retaining their margin, and not look at turnover. In 2006, managed to secure just under 10% discount on my HSE via an large outfit through the internet. Granted the D3 had been on the road + 2 years, however recession was not yet on everyones mind. I feel it is a "do"able proposition.

Or perhaps even go straight to Landrover and let them choose the dealer through whom they are distributed. If it were a fleet purchase then dealing direct with Landrover would be the norm wouldn't it? V8NOT - because it's a diesel of course!

Agree with your sentiments though not too sure what LR perception would be dealing direct with a syndicate looking to buy D4's? Suppose it depends on the quantity they were approached about. But understand it has been difficult getting interest together on this site for a group buy.
