I took the new D4 up to the Lake District this weekend.
This is at the top of Hardknott Pass, the only public road I know where the low range gearbox is worth using.
On the decent of Hardknott Pass.

Did a little towing yesterday and this was the result
Yes it reads 4MPG it did go down to 3 at one stage climbing a steeper hill "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Trailer (obviously) with a project Defender on it (TDV8 engine, tubular chassis, D3 manual gearbox etc etc) never thought the package was so heavy but it must have been.
When I took this photo it was on a reasonable gradient but not a bad one so could have been worse "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.

Bought one!
Thats what I did yesterday. I drove all the way to Sunderland (550miles/9hrs round trip) to see a D4, having made the trip its probably just as well I decided to buy it.
One owner, low mileage car in perfect condition .......... but not for long!
See list below for all the gear thats going on, will probably be more. Will be used daily for commuting plus with my local emergency response group & as an MSA rally radio vehicle....... if anybody hears Register 4 on the airwaves at an event that's me.
It's my 6th Land Rover product and by far the best but in all fairness to my previous cars it is by far the newest!Nick
2010 D4 ....... now gone and replaced with a 05RRV Autobiography

Last weekend I drove mine up Scotland again, to Aberdeen and then back the next day. Around 500 miles this time, but as usual no problem for the Disco, 4 hours driving and not even tired. Its truly amazing and a fully pleasurable 40,000 miles so far
