I clearly jinxed it. Drove it to the dealer today as it absolutely stinks of petrol after being driven.
Still waiting on an official diagnosis from the dealer but after googling, seems likely it's a leaking flange on top of the tank. Searching the web makes it appear to be really common on petrol versions of the D4 / LR4.
There are some good videos on youtube that walk through the entire repair. I'm not brave enough to try that outside when it's as hot out as it is currently.
Not sure if you’re aware of it but there is a recall on that in USA… I think. No idea if Naghi in KSA or whomever in Bahrain will honor it. In any case the LR recall campaign identifier is N623 and the NTSB’s is 21V635.

RLD sump guard
As well as Terrafirma headlight protectors, I also managed to fit my RLD sump guard that's been in the garage for a couple of months. Really like the 'all black' look now and gives it extra protection as well as making the front hitch accessible.
Great design, quality and finish from Uncle Ray

Thanks - only just seen this. I was aware that recall was coming after googling the symptoms (what timing) - it wasn't active when my issue hit but I'd seen posts mentioning that it was coming. Seems it's a US-only thing though sadly.
So I got the fuel tank fixed which in itself was not expensive. The dealer kindly sent a video of worn-out control arms/bushings, bless them . So I let them do the work on that too. Picked it up after a few days and set off for home. Aircon once again busted. Did a u-turn straight back to the dealer. seems the only aircon pipework that hasn't been recently replaced had failed. It then took them 3 weeks to get the part. To add insult to injury, when I originally picked up the car with the failed aircon they'd left it sat outside in 45 degree sunshine. It was so hot inside the car that my iPhone shut down due to overheating as soon as I was on the phone to the service advisor telling them I was on my way back
Finally got the car back and admittedly it drives absolutely amazing after new upper arms, lower bushings and a wheel alignment.
Did the front discs and pads myself following bodsys bible. Next job is rear discs and pads.
Weather is getting better and I'm off this week so will have a bash at installing the redarc dcdc charger.Chris

Added a few plastic bits.
Britpart seatbelt surrounds, belt adjuster covers, microphone? vent cover.
Added some window vent guards… passenger side is very very slightly on the and it’s giving me serious OCD and is going to drive me nuts.
Got a right deal on v nearly new OEM winter mats on eBay, so they went in.
I changed the rear wiper and swapped out the OEM plate lights for some Britpart LED lights, as one of the OEMs was kaput. Absolute to get in but managed to fit them alright and the difference is huge.

Well I didn't, the guys at Woodside Garage did. SWMBO is now happy as lots of hot air on the passenger side!
From the air vents I hasten to add Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack

Todays work: Integration of a flat Alu box into the prospeed roof carrier.
Main purpose is to get into garages with the box on. The height in access mode is around 2m. With the land rover passion module I get even lower.
What do you think?

Got myself a 2006 V8 with 138.000 km a few weeks ago after my 2005 TDV6 with 389.000 km was finished due to high-pressure > failed waterhouse > blocked pistons > dead engine...
This one was like a virgin, so time to put some stuf on:
- Frontrunner roofrack
- Frontrunner ladder
- Frontrunner spare wheel carrier on rack
- In gun-metal-grey re-sprayed 18" rims with BF Goodyear KO2
- Chequerd bonnet plates
- Chequerd side panels
- Mantec snorkel
- Front window cowl replacement with seal-off air intake heater.
List to do is still long but we are getting there!Since 11-01-2014 of a Land Rover Disco 3 HSE, Feb-2005, Black leather 7 seater, Tonga Green.

Thanks to guides on here I have the drive shaft out and on the workbench and an order placed with Advanced Factors for the parts. Hopefully I can get it back together by Friday as it is supposed to be taking is up to the Lake District on Friday.
I did at least get the oil change done and glad I found it early.
