Hi all, was here once before and my disco still has the forum decals on my rear window
I have a java black, manual 2004 disco3 SE registered in the November of that year
Ive had it since 2018, was my first landy and im totally hooked since
Its standard bar the sat nav mod i learnt on this forum, I think Ive done well not to modify it although the temptation is always there
I recently was in a position to update to a d4, but the sale of mine fell through and the d4 is now a distant memory.....tbh I was having regrets about the d3 going so glad the sale didnt go ahead.
The d3 does everything I need, and does a lot more than I will ever probably use in terms of off roading. I drove a new defender last week and it was very special inside and looked nice......but for me I still like the D3 more

Hi
I am in the process of purchasing a 2005 Discovery 3 V8 in HSE spec. I have been reading this forum in the run up and it's been really useful to know what I am looking for with the common faults.
I am sure I will end up with a few questions.
All the best

Picked up 2007 HSE last week.
Hi all,
Picked up my HSE last week. Had one last year (55 plate HSE) for two months as urgently needed replacement tow car for caravan and got away with one of these. Sold it and it cost me zero (rare Landrover experience), even covered cost of fuel and AC refresh!
Now bought another as fourth car. It’s done a few miles but being 2007 had new oil pump fitted in 2017, plus cambelt, gearbox oil filter and flush.
It’s a clean car with D4 spec grill (which I think I may fully paint to match) and I have de-tango’d the lights (black tape on sides and top). Also clear side indicators to match the D4 clear rear lights that were fitted.
Car is Lugano Teal and it looks lovely, really fetching colour. I hope you agree the updates work. Pics in the gallery.

Hi All- thanks for letting me join the forum, I am new to the D3, as a family we also have a LR 90, 2 freelanders, and an L322 Range Rover as you can see we have the Landy virus..
Naturally we have an issue with the D3 - Timing belt tensioner let go, so hoping the damage isnt too great, and will be searching here for access to a downloadable Workshop manual.
stay safe

Hi , i bought an 55 plate Discovery 3 Hse auto this year , i love it to bits , I'll miss my 02 plate Freelander 1 , but the Disco is better suited for my rural life with my horses.
I used to be a Mechanic ( Vauxhall) , and i do all my own servicing and repairs on my own cars and a few friends aswell .
Hopefully i can add tips and share knowledge, aswell as find tips and advice , i'm still finding my feet with the Discovery 3 and need some help with a rushing , wooshing , air leak type noise issue it has on part throttle and lifting off throttle , like a dump valve , you really hear it more with the windows open , I'm stumped so any help would be very much appreciated ... many thanks Graeme Vass

Hi, I’ve been look and doing research from the amazing post on here. I picked up My first Discovery 4 2010 just over a month ago.
After picking it up and driving for a while found a few things I’ve needed to fix, but got it for a bargain price with low miles
Fixes so far
Bonnet sensor (sensor was fine, the wire into the plug was the issue)
Tailgate loom replacement
Fuel gauge issue ( found out the hard way)

Hi all, new to the group and new to Landy, Cornish Lad, Aircraft engineer by trade, picking up my new D3 tomorrow, hopefully it’s as clean as described, it’s a met grey SE, does shudder occasionally until at cruising speed, so I have ordered some DR Tranny and will do a flush first, I hear it’s good stuff, I do like to tinker, I’m told it’s essential if owning one of these lol, looking forward to it, I’ve had Navara’s, L200’s Merc ML’s etc but this is the first Landy, I’m glad of groups like this, so much information and knowledge available from like minded enthusiasts 👍

Not a mechanic. I have a similar noise and collected equip for a service on my car - did it myself today, and asked the a local specialist whilst I was there. He said as he sat in it, if you have a leak (I don’t) you can put it in drive, keep left foot on the brake pedal and push the throttle to 2,000 rpm. I presume at that point you hear hissing or a noise. I didn’t so I guess it’s fairly normal....?2007 Discovery 3 HSE Lugano Teal

Pimp my Disco!
Evening all,
Owner of a Dublin based '05 Disco. Originally a dealer car so an SE but with glass roof etc. Would have been one of the first cars and it does not have any crack in the seat leather after 155k miles!
Great family car. Tax at €1809!
2 years in it is a fantastic family car.

Hello Everyone,
I just joined the D3 owners, bought a late 2004 D3 SE Manual. Its the first Landy i've owned, helped restore a '68 SWB series, and ran a '92 defender for a friend for a year, but never took the plunge.
Its low(ish) mileage - 110K and seems to have been looked after well.
Drove back from Nottingham to just north of Inverness very nicely, only one small issue which I think might be EGR related about 1 hour in.
Looking forward to getting it on the ramp and giving it a good going over in the next couple of weeks. Will be buying the Gap BT iiD first I think though!
Thanks in advance for all the info/help.
Is there anyone else on here up my way (Tain, Scottish Highlands)
