Netherlands 2011 LR4 4.0 V6 Petrol HSE Auto Fuji WhiteLR4

Update:
I am testing the vehicle now for a few hours. Works without problems if:

1- car is locked
2- I am unlocking the car twice. First button hit will only unlock drivers door. Second hit unlocks all doors.

If remote unlocking the car twice, the car will start and act normally.

Any suggestions what is happening here??

Well you won’t believe it. As I expected, something with immobiliser. This small motor came from the driver lock mechanism. Ordered new one. Wait for parts.

I hope you have found the problem !!!!!

This would be again surprising in a normal car, but in a Land Rover anything can prevent you from starting your engine....

Well done !!!!

Nope, found 2 locks who’s doing weird. Changed both. Same problem.

It happens only if you take the vehicle for a ride for a few minutes. Turn it off, wait a couple of minutes, try to start again but nothing happens except the temperature gauge goes to red again and immobiliser keeps flashing once every 2 seconds.

I need now to wait a few hours until I can start it again.

A few faults are visible and the temperature gauge is up.

Sorry!!!

If I was you, I would patiently go back to test the canbus.
It is boring, it takes time but it is the most reliable way to find the problem.

If not you will change a ton of parts, small things here and there and again and again you will be frustrated.

Check this post if you want.

I know it will take time but cheer up, this way you will find the faulty Censored ..... that make you water gauge going up and this prevent your car from starting.

Good luck!!!

Thanks Philippe,

I tested the can wiring and there volt/impedance. All are right.

Just spoke to Land Rover specialist in us and he said right away that the issue is coming from the instrument cluster since the temperature gauge goes to red and prevents the engine from start.

I second that its definetly a cluster fault.

For me that was the problem.... but you said few days ago that you checked it and it was not that... also I was trying to find the problem somwhere else.... sorry.

For me it was the plug making the connection behind the inst cluster that was a little loosed.

When you unscrew your instrument cluster, it takes 15minutes, turn the key on but not the engine and see if the gauge is going up when you are moving a little this plug...

For me no need to change it, I just placed some rubber in order to have a very strong connection and it was all right.

I hope it is the same for you.

I have changed with a used one from Diesel engine. So not a good test to start with. It’s vin coded. So it’s definitely needs to be programmed to the vehicle.

Hdc failure error message...help needed

Advise needed
LR 3, 2007 model
Recent new clutch and battery. Prior to battery change had error messages....hdc system fault and park break fault. Sorted Ince battery change.
Since then a new break pad was fitted. Hdc fault error messages have started again.
And seem to be getting worse. Now as soon as engine starts and I drive off. Fine last two days in wet weather. Now dry starting again and happening regularly.
What's the problem? How do I get this sorted?
Thanks

I would start by getting the codes read otherwise it becomes an expencive guessing game.

You may have disturbed a wheel sensor or height sensor when you changed the pads.

Probably calibrate the steering angle sensor.

Hi Guys,

I'm driving a LR3 2007 HSE TD276 model.
Recently , I keep on getting this multiple faults, on the deshboard screen
HDC fault system not available
Transmission fault
Suspention lowered
Parking break fault

Accept the suspention are in lower position the car "feels" normal. Stopping the car and restarting the engine resets all the faults, I can raise the car to normal height and drive normally.
Faults can reappear on the same trip, after a day or weeks, it's completely random.

Occasionally when it happends, the transmission is restricted to third gear, but even then, if I stop the car, take the keys out for sometime (minute or two) all faults disappear.

I think the first time It happend was a few days after I tryed to start the car with a dead battery, a couple of times - but I really cant say if it had any thing to do with that.

I have no Idea were to start looking....
