You'll probably find the Ecoroute software is already build in. Same as the 1410. It allows you to plan a fuel-efficient route by telling it your typical consumption on different road-types. You can also use it to maintain a fuel/mileage log by inputing information at the filling station.

As I understand it (and Gaz can probably confirm), the Ecoroute HD dongle "talks" to this software and allows it to give you more accurate figures on average consumption, etc.

Resetting Service Indicator

Does anyone know if the Ecoroute HD can be used to reset the service indicator on early D3's. The well-documented procedure of holding down the trip recorder reset button while turning on the ignition apparently doesn't work with early D3's (certainly doesn't work with mine) and I've read the only way to do it is with a plug-in diagnostic tool.

I read that Black Box Solutions do a dedicated unit that plugs into the OBD socket, but I can't find reference to it on their website.

I'm new to all this but is there no way to update or add to the existing satnav and touch screen to use garmin or other off road gps system? seems such a waste to have to install another system when there is all the back bone already there?
Just spent a whole lot installing a parrot to read my ipod and provide bluetooth for my phone in my 2006 d3.

Really a question for new topic. Not without using garmin hardware in short, you are asking for 2 systems to work togther Whistle It may be worth optimaising the use of your fitted satnav/diagnostic screen by using more features if not allready done so. See these and contact Baben for more info:
