I might be up for a non GPS too, funds permitting.
Do you need to remove the camera every day to get the footage, or does it automaticly overwrite the non "event" footage?

wiggs, can the device be hardwired in to the interior light power rather than having the plug in lead dangling to the 12v cig lighter?

Let me check the voltage coming out the ciggy adapter ' just to make sure it's not been reduced down .
If it's not then yes you could ... But the lighting circuit goes dead after the car goes to sleep....so no good if you want to do parking recording
The ciggy lead is plenty long enough to go down to the fuse box though G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

The power lead must be 2.5mtrs IMHO................I trailed mine under the head lining to the C pillar in the boot, then into the Traxide socket in the N/S boot cup holder
Mine is permanently live through the Auxillary system. I beleive the cig adaptor for the Blackvue has a power dropper, so decided not to hard wire into the D3, and with the Traxide it does'nt matter anyhow.
I have the 4gb version and have had no probs, no need for the GPS version as I know where I am, been, and going

Oooo post man just been ...my new GPS ones
slight diffrences to the non GPS version .
Memory card reader is bigger , av out lead is a different design ( better as it has a rca connector instead of a jack plug )
Camera is identical size to non gps version .
There is a difference to the actual camera lens ..i hope its as good as the old one
before any one asks ..there all spoken for G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

It overwrites the info if you set it that way in the config file. Its what I did, and works a treat.
I may go for a GPS version at some point, but in no hurry to though.

Only had my Blackvue in for a week and caught this one earlier today, a second earlier and I could have been looking at an insurance claim.

Is the software compatible with Mac's? Would be interested in a non-GPS one if will work with Mac. Was thinking about it when driving home from work and then someone cut me up on a roundabout and if it had been worse, something like this would come in handy!
