Hi all. I have just replaced my D2 due to chronic rust with an 05 D3 and have embarked on the reverse camera install. Having done the removal of the 4th wire trick it went into RR mode immediately but then has refused to do it again remaining in D3 mode and both physical buttons work 🤔
Am I missing a trick? Do I need a CCF reprogramme or is there a reboot of something required?
It was great when I initially got the new interface!

The display needs to reboot to go into RR mode.
All this really means it taking the keys out and waiting

Many thanks for the reply Pete K. I disconnected the 4th wire 2 weeks ago and have used the car daily but every time it is set on the D3 interface. I had one random occasion when it did go the RR mode but then back to D3 when I next restarted the engine. 🤔

Maybe you cut the wrong wire ?
Disconnecting the front panel is a way to force it into RR mode to help diagnosis

Pretty sure I got the right cable as it did switch initially but I’ll double check. Thankfully didn’t cut just released the connector. Will also try the disconnection reboot. Thanks for the suggestions!

I also installed camera, in RR mode no GVIF interface and I managed with IDTOOL to install the camera. On the other hand I have the same problem as you, no red line and field of vision too tight even in hidden view brightness ok and red line ok , limited to green and yellow line, you found a solution to that?

Hi guys I have done the diode mod but switched it on and off using a 12v relay connected to the cigar lighter lamp, now when the lights are switched on the LCD dims  awesome.
