So if this was unauthorised climb ... radiated nuts?
Depends how close you are working to the antenna sometimes they can operate on reduced power other times it is switched off. When climbing / rigging you normally wear radiation monitors and in some cases have somebody watching a power level meter and you don't climb any closer to the antenna than him
With the power outputs and frequencies on some masts you would get more than radiated nuts going close to some antennas, you would be very quickly cooked as they are just a big open air microwave with power outputs up to 1Kw
Reminds of the story I was told when doing an RF awareness course, Ofcom were brought in to locate a source of intermittent localised interference which they eventually tracked down to a chip shop the owner had decided it would be more efficient to not have a door on the microwave used for warming pies so he removed it and bypassed the door interlock and he and his staff were using this totally unaware of the problem they were causing in the local area and to themselves and their customers "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".
