DWP, why in this day and age can’t they make payments monthly instead of every 4 weeks

The state pension has always been administered and calculated on a weekly basis. Hence, 13 X 4 weeks =52 weeks. To vary the amounts paid for 28, 29, 30 & 31 day months was just too much of an administrative burden.
Although I believe that receiving the same amount every week/4 weeks was deemed to be more popular and that also it helps ensure a level of uniformity/fairness when recipients die.
I’m pretty sure that you can still opt to receive it on a weekly basis, if that suits you better. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Dread to think what that would cost if they do indeed issue 4 x bins to every resident

I used to be paid on a 4 weekly basis for 9yrs. Hated it. We had a vote to change to monthly and monthly lost. The mentality was that you were paid twice in one month and that was a bonus

It's bad enough with just the pensions but SWMBO also gets her industrial injury benefit paid on a different day.
Trying to get things to match up with monthly bills is a pain.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

Surely as it’s an annual pension just dividing it by 12 isn’t beyond the realms of man 😉

No, State Pension is always quoted as a weekly entitlement, as are all benefits.
It also corrects for the fact that there are more than 52 weeks in a year as well as leap years.
Some employers used to pay on a variable 4 and 5 weeks months which in itself could be problematic.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

Radio presenters....Radio 1 on a Sunday, what a load of for the generation Z..... its one of the only stations that I can receive in the garage without too much interference, so choice is limited. Just bleat on about nothing, mental health, stress, and laugh at their own stupid responses.
Talked about the stress of Christmas, frozen sprouts being a way to ease financial burden this Christmas (and if they are grown frozen, WTF, and a Guru coming in to talk about getting through this festive season ....... oh off.....

We already have three bins per house hold (and now an extended emptying schedule) four bins would just give them longer not to collect the general waste bins that gets used most... and how much extra plastic would that involve (or do we not talk about using plastic anymore?)I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

We would welcome being given a Garden waste bin, and have it emptied.
We currently have to register for the scheme, buy the bin, and pay an annual fee for it to be collected.
We are lucky enough to have a big enough garden to Compost most of our garden waste, which we actively do, but you don’t want everything in a Compost heap.
Back in June I was two days late paying the £90, or whatever it is now, and we were ‘withdrawn’ from the scheme.
As the scheme locally is oversubscribed we are now on a 3yr waiting list to rejoin.
Stupidly, the scheme is oversubscribed because of all the new houses that have been built.
They all have tiny postage stamp sized gardens, many covered in astroturf, but all appear to have a full sized Garden waste wheelie bin.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

Stupid. If it's oversubscribed then it means there is a need and opportunity which the council or its contractor could fill and generate income!
Sadly they are looking at capacity not opportunity.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

SKY
Spending over 3 hours sitting in front of my laptop, having an on-line chat to re-negotiate my SKY contract!
What a pain in the
3hours of daylight, 3hours on a Saturday afternoon when I could’ve been doing so many more pleasant things.
Despite having retired 23 years ago, 3hours in front of a computer is work, and work I rather not do. Goat well and truly up.I’m a Disco 4 believer. What a vehicle!
