Just reviving this slightly in order to make sure I order all the correct parts before doing the swap.

RS500 inter cooler
76-54-mm silicon reducer x2

Is that it?

Thanks,
Ted

Here's what you need the reducers are no longer available 76-54 so 76-55 will be ok .there will be some fabrication req for the mountings (there's pics in my gallery ) and some trimmimg to get the ic in its huge .
Thumbs Up

1x intercooler.
2x reducers 76-55mm
2x straight couplings 54mm
4 x clamps 45-60mm
2x clamps. 60-80mm

Just looking at the intercoolers there seams to be a few different design variations on the inlet/outlet pipes. Some protrude straight forward where as others have angles on them. Any advice on which is the correct one?

Bent outlets

The one I used had the offset outlets,
however I think the other would do .

Just installed a BAS remap so thinking about the intercooler route now so thanks for sharing the information Thumbs Up

Is the decat pipe still regarded as a worthwhile mod? are there any adverse effects to removing the cat?

Thanks,

Mike

I have a decat and it makes the car more sprightly. Not to mention the lovely audible whistle it now allows. Once I have the RS500 on and mapped I'm sure it'll be even better Very Happy

Marc, have you got a picture of the silicon hoses fitted to the car with the intercooler in place?

I'm struggling to understand why you need the 54mm straight couplings and only 4 x clamps 45-60mm. Don't you require 6 clamps ( 3 per side ) and a short length of 54mm steel pipe to join the reducer to the straight coupling?
Or am I totally way offside with this?

I havent a clue on the sizes reqd, but handy to know flex pipe is always measured as inside diameter and solid incl nylon is measured outside diameter.

Hi sorry missed this thread and am away on holiday and the internet is poo Big Cry
Bother sides of the intercooler require the same amount of clamps ,so starting at the intercooler 1x clamp to hold the reducer too the intercooler (the intercooler outlet is a larger diameter) then you will need a straight length of pipe to join the intercooler reducer (smaller end ) to the original hose on the car and two clamps .Hope that helps I'm afraid I don't have any pics of this I'm hoping to do a how too soon so I will include them in that Thumbs Up
Narpy you have a pm Thumbs Up
