Apologies, just read that the flywheel was done apparently! Was the flywheel separately on the invoice? How much were the parts as a matter of interest?

It's not slipping at the moment. That's what makes me wonder if it's something other than the friction plate. If the friction plate was worn, it would slip all the time, not get better by itself!

The clutch and flywheel job cost £1620 (previous owner) but I dont have the parts breakdown to hand at the moment.

Clutch slip is worse today.
50mph/5th gear 2000 revs (ish,) put a bit of power on to accelerate, revs go up, no increase in speed.
Depress clutch, and let it fast, slip gone?

Still not convinced it's the friction plate worn and not something else. Still, thinking it might be expensive either way Crying or Very sad

Since my last post on this (25th June) it's not slipped once!

I'm convinced it's not the friction plate, they are either worn or not. I'm more inclined to think its the clutch master cylinder or the concentric slave cylinder, having a 'wear notch' in them.

I did drive for a while putting the clutch right to the floor each gear change, in a sort of slow exaggerated way. Don't know if that's what helped, but it's not slipping at the moment Rabbit (couldn't find a fingers crossed emoticon, so a lucky rabbit will do!)
