Help! MY16 restraints control module issues
Hey guys,
I wired in a dashcam today in my new to me 2016 Discovery 4. Everything was going fine until I piggy backed into a fuse.
I used the cigar lighter fuse (53) for the ignition, then used fuse 58 for power as it was one that I tested for full power...
However, I started the car up and it wouldn't start. Ton of errors. I connected the IDDTool and got a lot of faults relating to the restraints control module:

I tried clearing the faults and trying again - but the car will not start.
Please tell me I can fix this!

It sounds like nothing can access the restraints control module. Could I have fried it somehow? :/

I would check the battery first and make sure it’s not flat.
It doesn’t take much to run the battery flat when working on the car.D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.
Defender 2002 Td5 Commercial, had a hard life but slowly being restored.
I only work so I can afford to repair my Land Rovers!

I'm so dumb.
I thought I had taken out fuse 58 (which is listed as empty, but has constant power) but I had actually taken out 56. And what is that for? The airbag system!
So dumb. But all good now. Thankfully..

Don't feel so bad - I've just done exactly the same, fitting a camera. Thanks for going through the pain first!ex 96 Defender 300TDI
