Think I’d have been tempted to hire a car for 6 months or buy a banger. That’s what I was considering at the height of the prices last year.
My Disco is in a similar age bracket and model to yours but with 29k miles, at the peak last year I was being offered £39k, yet my one has dropped a good £10k.
I've just sold my Merc as I can see the way prices are going and right now I don't need a comfy mile-muncher to visit clients as I am going to see them at best once a month. It was due for replacement next year anyway, so I can sit on the cash pending the right deal/car.
So for now I do my local driving in the FL2, any longer trips I nick the wife's Volvo - she's quite happy in the FL2 day to day.
Still have my reservation in place for a Fisker Ocean, but their announcement that they have formed an agreement with Onto to be their exclusive UK partner for 22/23 likely means my reservation (which predates that deal by 9 months) will likely get punted into 2024, which I am *not* happy about. I'll find out more when firm orders open in July, although July orders will only be for the launch spec.
tl;dr : If you can sell your car now and sit on the cash while prices settle, you'll do okI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I have read a comment this morning that in the next 3 months when the new energy price cap comes in, people will be unloading their vehicles to help pay for the bills.
I envisage cars being handed back to lease/HP/PCP companies or a glut of used cars on the market depressing prices.
Might have to check WBAC to see the direction of prices.

Interesting the D4 has been highlighted as a one of the losers in the used car market - didn't think I'd noticed that on AutoTrader tbh
I wonder if this is influenced by the impact of ULEZ in some cities. So there will be an impact on earlier cars in one direction, and a different one on Euro 6 cars in the other direction. More of the former out there though...MY16 Discovery 4 Landmark - Yulong White

“The most popular colour was black, followed by blue and grey.“
Blue! I’d not have guessed that.
Also surprised that Tesla wasn’t mentioned. Used prices (as well as new) for them have tumbled recently. Even more than the iPace.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I was searching for a 2016 D4 Landmark over the past month. Approved used just gone within 1-2 days, even photo was not ready on the online ad. I placed an order for an approved used finally, but with higher milage; I placed deposit right after the sales send me a video.
D4 looks boxy and tough; most newer LR just cannot compare, except Defender.
