When I bought mine at the end of last year I was told there was a shortage of D3 & D4's
as so many people have decided to buy caravans and want a 4x4 to tow them.
I didn't pay much attention at the time until I was talking to a local caravan dealer, who
said they have had so many people come in to buy caravans for the 1st time and have bought
the biggest vehicle they can, to tow with, mainly D3's and 4's

Values must be holding up.
My 2014 D4 XXV at 58k has 10k more miles on it than when I bought it (privately at 47k) and WBAC has an online value at £26250 which is £250 more than I paid last June....
Mind you, I've sunk a fortune in mods and bits n bobs into it so it's a keeper but does make you think...
I paid £54k for my new XC90 R-Design, which is brilliant , on 30th December 2020. Thought I'd do a WBAC out of curiosity with 3300 on the clock........

I'm not worried. The XC90 is a cracking car and exceeds what I now need. I loved the Defender but the lack of 7 seats and the side opening door were and issue. As for the D5, how did they get it so wrong? D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

My 15 plate (2016 model year) HSE Lux D4 with ~23k on the clock results in about £32k quote from WBAC.
I periodically check out of curiosity and my D4 has slowly but surely increased in price by about £4k over the last year. I think the demand is very strong for these, but the low mileage certainly helps.2016 D4 HSE Lux

Just did a WBAC valuation on my VW California. £43k @ 6years old. We paid £53k for it new in 2015 but it does have a lot of extras.
They still don't like my Outlander though!

I think the market for second hand PHEV is very unsure. Maybe the withdrawal of Mitsubishi from Europe in the future is affecting values already?Jim

I think WBAC is having a problem with the Outlander.
Motorway at around £13300 (up £500) whilst WBAC were offering £150 ish. Now up to £5200 ish Lol
The announcement to withdrawn was reflected in the last quarter of 2020. Lost 20% of its value over 2months!

I nearly t-boned a petrol tanker as I collapsed in fits of laughter seeing that on his forecourt.
"Optimistic"I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Because of this thread, out of interest I put my D4 detail into WBAC and got a valuation.
As with past experience, when you hold out, the value increases.
However with this recent valuation, a week later it had gone down by £185....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I'm taking my D4 to Land Rover tomorrow for a full finance assessment. They seem keen to have it! asking if I will give it up early before taking delivery of my new ordered Sport 300e (as god knows when that will be available with all the crap around covid/suez canal/ global shortage of computer bits etc, etc)
I had the car charger installed this week - with some ground works to get the cable buried and not strung all round the house - at some cost! but nothing for it to charge into for some months it seems FFS!
Still - if the price is right I may have to give up my beloved dream car - smooth as silk and so powerful - capable of just about everything. Still - I've ticked the box and had one for nearly 6 years and the best car I've had by far in my 67 years.... I just love it!!

Land Rover may well be keen to have your D4 off you but I would be very surprised if they offer decent money for it.
LR main dealer offered just over 7k for mine saying ''that's all its booking at Sir so you wont get a better offer'' but I got 9.5k off a local indy dealer.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten
