Hi,
our car went to wbac yesterday as they had such a strong price and it was an easy deal.
Only think I would say about them is get your mileage exact for when you get to them if your looking for a "Real" sale.
I'll be taking our Kia Sportage to WBAC in a couple of weeks. Any other tip for getting the best out of them?

Declare all damage, marks, scuffs etc to get a realistic view of the price they will offer you. Their people are paid to find stuff and take it off from your original quote. MY16 Landmark - Yulong White
MY10 HSE - Stornoway Grey
Hey Nick. Yeah I'm aware the guys get paid commission on the difference between the quote and what they pay you. I do have some damage to the bumper and the rear wing on the car. (my fault sadly).
I'm wondering if I don't declare it, then when the guy sees the damage he will then lower the price to what I would be quoted if I do declare the damage online. This is compared to me declaring the damage online, where the guy would then be incentivised to lower what I receive even further to earn him some commission in that scenario. Do you see my logic and do you maybe agree to it?
Apologies for the thread hijack.
This Sportage is finally getting replaced with a D3 BTW

Hi,
we got exactly what the quote was
but went back home to "empty" the car as if they had knocked anything we were walking away,
this added about 50 miles and they reduced by £10
only other thing I would comment on is paying the extra £25 for next day payment, rather than 4 days
the invoice states Next day payment by 18:00 and all other payments by 20:00, so you may be paying £25 for only 2 hours difference
Oh and they inform DVLA of sale when payment made so should have no probs with tax back.
And you have to wonder if it costs them more to pay quicker? Or if it's just a scheme to get a little more money from people who are desperate?

We took the wife's fiat 500 convertible into WBAC about 2 months ago.
Garaged and well looked after, immaculate condition.
We got £300 more than the quote, mainly on the basis the wife had overcooked the mileage when getting the original quote.
I echo the above comment that get the exact mileage in your quote.
Was relatively hassle free. There was a little bit of 'scuff' pointing out which on a 2013 car seemed a little harsh but that's their business.
Whole process did make me wonder how they don't get vehicles with major mechanical defects presented as at no stage did WBAC drive the vehicle. They wanted it started and running and as it had a valid MOT and no warning lights on the dash (they emphasised that several times during the process) I suppose that works for them.
They did say the transaction would 'complete' in 2-3 working days and the money arrived in the bank at the end of working day 2. Maybe that gives them some wriggle room but I've never heard of such issues.
I would recommend selling that way for run of the mill hassle free sale.Jim

My office use to be beside WBAC so I was aware of some off the fails that they bought. To be honest not many.
There were a few that knocked quite a bit on startup. A typically ruse was to leave the car running but they would politely ask for the vehicle to be switched off before restating later. A few didn't restart and they were ohh it hasn't done that before.

Marshalls just sent me a personal email highlighting they would love to buy my very low milage car as they have clients waiting?.
They know they don't have to try to sell it and they will offer you a insulting offer and to buy what instead ??? All overpriced disco sport for £40k etc .

I believe the cars leave the WBAC drop-off place on a transporter, and they literally roll off that transporter into an auction. So I guess the risk is placed straight onto the buyer at the auction, not with WBAC? It's certainly a business model which works, based on the number of imitators...

Well - I am now without a D4 ..... LR bought it for £28,400 - about the same price as WBAC offered..
Still ... I'm looking forward to taking delivery of the PHEV Sport R Dynamic HSE sometime in July maybe - fiddling about upping the wheel size from 18" to 20" on Friday at the dealership hasn't helped delivery schedule but I figure that may push it forward a bit as the 20" is clearly the most popular size - and having driven one (at last) on 20" wheels I was OK with the ride....
Will undoubtedly miss the air suspension though....2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

You'll love the hybrid and if you're doing the miles you will notice the difference at the fuel pumps. Just put my Outlander up for sale. I think it averaged >120mpg for the 34500miles and around 10.3MW of electricity over the 5.5years we've owned it.
Typically charge it overnight on economy 7 but will charge it during the day (if sunny) via our PVs
