Hi, I've not attempted to fit them yet, but I believe there's an extra mounting hole to drill ( hidden by trim ) and 5mm to cut off the clip in fog surround on the D3

Ignition on fuse - certain mine are wired only to the fusebox in the engine bay -didn't do them myself - have an electrically minded colleague here who is unfortunately on holiday this week. Just a matter of a test meter or probe though? Same for indicators - need a test meter or probe.

D4 - should fit without modification
D3 - Yes one original mounting hole used and a self tapper through the plastic for another, the D3 surrounds do need the Dremel approach of about 5mm all round - or until snug.

IMO They look the business though when on.

Any further help give us a ring here from next Tuesday onwards and speak with Paul as he can offer first hand fitting instructions.

Finally got round to fitting these last weekend with help as always from Stu (forum member Oswiperus). Great service also from Steve @ Advanced Factors!

Fairly straight forward, however a small amount of Dremeling to the mounts was required as the new light units were slightly bulkier than the originals.

The controller was mounted behind the R/H Headlight, the white wire was soldered to the red/orange trace wire at the R/H Headlight plug. There is a switched live at the unused plug (pollution sensor?) in front of the radiator, the blue wire was soldered to this. There is a body earth point behind the R/H headlight so the black and brown wires were connected to this. Finally, the fused red wire was run to the battery. As I already have cornering lights I didn't use the green or grey wires.

The looms that are attached to the controller are all plug and play, and are plenty long enough.

I've added some pictures in my gallery.

Cheers,

GM

Thanks a million - Grease Monkey and Oswiperus Thumbs Up

This is great - The photos look awesome!

I assume "red/orange trace wire at the R/H Headlight plug" is the side light wire?

also

Did you connect the indicator wires or not?
Which one is the indicator on the R/H headlight plug?

Hi Imsy

Yes, the red/orange trace wire at the R/H Headlight plug is the side light wire. I didn't connect the indicator wires as I already have cornering lights.

Post some photos when you've fitted them Thumbs Up

Finally managed to fit these yesterday.
Had to dremel slightly to make them fit but it was only a little bit. But overall it was straightforward. Thanks to Grease Monkey and Oswiperus for the pics and instructions.

Also there is a video on how to fit them on a RRS on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z6W_3ZRCaY

My car did not have the pollution sensor connector so I used F19 fuse connection from the fusebox using a pigtail connector. I got this idea from a picture in Wiggs's gallery. (Thank you Mr Wiggs!!)

Did not connect the cornering lights to the indicators - as I don't like the idea of DRLs flashing when hazards are ON. maybe I would if there was a way to connect them to actual cornering light wires rather then the indicators. And my car does not have the cornering lights.

I put the DRL controller in the same location behind the RHD headlight.

Some pics below:

Foglight socket before mod

After dremeling to shave some of the plastic off. Now the Osrams fits snugly.

Fitted nicely. No need to modify the surrounds.

DRL: ON. They are very very bright. DRLs are rated 25W. But they have diffused lenses so the light does not dazzle.

DRL: ON

DRL: ON

FOG: ON (Camera brightness was lowered - otherwise too bright)

Foglights: ON - The beams are low and straight - just like the oem fogs. But much brighter and whiter.

FOG: ON

Very happy with them indeed!

Nice job Imsy

I thought about not connecting my cornering lights to the indicator as well, but did so as they would only flash when the headlamps were on and whilst I hope not to find myself at the side of the road awaiting recovery, I suspect my headlamps would be off in the circumstances.

I've still not fitted mine, however I was planning on wiring the cornering lights to the feed for my standard cornering lights instead of the indicator feed, so they come on both together. Can always disconnect them if its too much.
 Cheers,

Gareth

Hi,

Can some one please confirm, in the pics there is reference to FOG & DRL ?

Is there two elements inside ?
Fog for switching when it's foggy ? Dash switch as standard with lights
DRL For switching with ignition which appears to curved ? Feed from battery

3 individual functions Chalky...

DRL (the curved or tick shaped) for when ignition on and no lights on
Fog lamp in place of the originals (whole lamp)- so just when fog switch pulled
Cornering lamp (an aimed piece from inner corner towards kerb) - comes on when lights are on and turn indicator switched on

My HSE does not have front fog lights.

I really like these units. What extra do I need to get an OEM fit? I'm guessing:
New dash lights rotary switch.
N/S & O/S F bumper corners
Relay, loom - in case next owner want to revert to OEM fog lights.

Aye I know I could get a hole cutter and make my own switch....

Steve, many thanks Thumbs Up

Sounds interesting ? I like the idea of cornering lights but thought that the light looked too bright and may bleach out the indicators but if it's a beam projected from the corner then hopefully that's resolved.

The DRL is handy in that it extinguishes when the lights are switched on. I usually drive round with mine on even in daylight so that's handy.

And my fog light is screwed so hopefully that will resolve my issue,

As I'm about to stump up lots of cash for my 105K service tho I'm skint Big Cry

I'm not being funny but are you sure that you have an HSE ?
I thought all top spec cars had the fogs ?

Al has one of those odd cars that you can't even put diesel in to it Laughing

Al, I think the bumper is marked for cutting on the inside so perhaps you can just cut yours and add a pair of trims.
