Got some of these last week and fitted them today on my D3 facelift. I too had to slightly modify the D4 bumper to get them to fit. I followed the instructions on this thread as it is LR related, one thing I did notice on finding a vacant fuse for the ignition feed is that fuse 19 as imsybaracuda suggested is live permanently, checking his photo agaist my fuse box that is actually fuse 9, I connect the blue wire to this and red directly to the + battery terminal. All works fine and they look the dogs b Censored

Ps a pair of D4 fogs complete with bulbs for sale now.

For ignition live I used F19 fuse connection from the fusebox using a pigtail connector.

Here is a pic of the location on a RHD car. My car also did not have the pollution sensor connector. The F19 fuse was unused and I think you can also use a spade type as in this pic.

I think if you check again my good fellow this is fuse 9

Tried fitting these to my 2008 D3 at the weekend and I could not get the lights to sit correctly and was unable to get the fog light cover back on.(sorry boringoldgit I have put them back in the post should receive tomorrow) unless I was doing something completely wrong but decided not to start cutting and drilling my bumper. They are a very well made piece of kit, will just have to wait till I get a D4.

They fit a D3, first set we had went into my D3!

As said though you have to dill one hole for a mounting and take a dremel tool or similar to the surround trims so they fit.

If you have sent them back I will sort a credit when I return from holiday next week.

Appreciate it......looking at the pictures my surrounds don't look like that, I had metal clips with torque/star screws,if I had cut the surrounds I would have not had anything to fix the new drl's too.enjoy your holidays..... Embarassed

Finally got around to fitting mine last weekend - very nice they look, too! Unfortunately, they are currently trying to 'blink' - every 10 secs, the DRLs go off for half a sec, then back on. Most irritating!

Not sure yet if this is where I've picked up the ignition feed, or a module fault ... hopefully I'll get this checked put tomorrow, weather permitting ...

Mick

Had that flashing as well when I first installed...it's a wiring issue (not a module error, so don't sweat). The instructions have been updated on the website and are a lot clearer than the hard copy I received with the set, particularly regarding the auto-dim function:
http://www.osram.com/osram_com/news-and-kn.../index.jsp

Also, to those that had fitting issues with the D3, the earlier instructions to trim fog bezels are unnecessary. The trick is to install negative spacers so that fog sits further back inside the housing. The bezel will then click on without modification.

Flashing DRLs

I too had a problem with the DRL’s flashing – but only when I connected the CTEK and after the battery had been on charge for several hours.

Here’s the suggested solution from Osram.

Quote:
The unit detects the charging voltage ripple from the alternator and must be seeing the same signal from your charger.

It is possible to connect the red cable (1) to an ignition switched supply (as used for the blue cable) provided that this circuit is capable of supplying the current of around 2A.

Please check that this current can be supplied by the chosen KL15 circuit before connecting to it. This should resolve your problem when charging.

I hope to try it in the next week or so.

Hi, are these spacers included in the kit or did you make it. If you made them your self any specs. you can share?
