Do you mean on the hub carriers??
I am only looking to take the wheels off and they are just stuck on the hub carriers so have taken the 5 nuts off and trying to get some penetrating fluid in there 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Well got a bit done today with stripping the chassis.
Took off the hand brake and the front leg as they need stripping down. The rear legs will be coming off too but there is one bolt left on each that is coming off and I can not get the angle grinder in so will be cutting it off with something else tomorrow but got to angry with it for today
So first thing was to get the wheels off. After alot of swearing and getting a bigger hammer they would not come off So I got the bigger hammer and soaked them for longer while I removed the handbrake etc and finally they fell off Then I could trial fit my other defender wheels and check that the 30mm spacers would be enough and they will be so just got to wait for these to arrive

Then once the bolt on things were removed (apart from one bolt each side on the rear legs) I took it to my water butt to put the pressure washer on it and see how it would come up. Had to use the tractor as that is the only thing I have with a pin hitch

Once it got back from being washed I took the wheels off again and put it up on the stands again to have a look at the brake drums and hubs. I gave them a good clean off and a wire brush and they look alright. I will be taking them apart tomorrow to have a look at the shoes and linkages etc.

Then with a cup wire brush on the angle grinder I gave it a good rub back on top and over the spring etc.. Ran out of time today to finish this but will hopefully get it all rubbed back by Wednesday then I will flip it over with the tractor and do that same underneath. She will then have a coat of primmer and a top coat of rust proof paint.

Then I will be working on all the bits I took off while she is drying and they will get put back on with new bolts washers etc.
Was good to see a bit of progress today 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Thats the one
I took it off today and have left it soaking in some penetrating fluid. Is it difficult to take apart and rebuild??
I saw your build on another forum but could not remember where when I was taking it off earlier as I knew you had rebuilt one, so thanks 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

After soaking in a mixture of ATF/acetone not at all!
I closed the hollow axle, by threaded M18x1,5 to each side and drilled a small hole in the middle.
With a grease nipple you are able to take care of the swinging parts without dismanteling.
Take care about the 1/4" nuts of the brake cylinder! Don't brake the studs!!!

Is there somewhere to add a grease nipple or did you do it yourself?07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Well with out the D3 today I was restricted on how messy I could get and still get in the car
So I took my box of parts that I had taken off back to the garage and started to stripe things down.
Finally I got the handbrake apart and all wire brushed ready for priming and painting

I went back up to the trailer once Woody32 had dropped my D3 back, feeling sweet as a nut and I got the brake drums off and the shoes. Some of the brake actuator things are seized so these are soaking and I will start to take them apart tomorrow. I will get the hubs off and repackage with grease then find some shoes. Any suggestions on where? Local??
Will be nice to get some paint on 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,
