LRs 70th birthday is in 2018 I reckon if a new Defender is going to happen it will happen then.
A mate of mine works for JLR and says he's seen the new defender (concept/first build, whatever it is), when I asked him about it he says it's a cross between the disco and defender and launch end of '17 which I guess will suit a lot of people on this forum. For me after seeing the latest pictures of the disco its confirming what I thought it would look like I'm glad I've gone down the Volvo route, for now anyway!'16 Volvo XC90 R Design Bursting Blue (Vera)

The front looks pants and doesn't have any Disco genes showing through whatsoever. The rear looks like its still fairly vertical so there is hope for the rear load space which is the make or break for my deposit!

If those images are correct then it looks just how I hoped it wouldn't look (a scaled up Discovery Sport), and, as I sure ain't going to the ludicrous pricing of RRS then it's Volvo here I come There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.

May have been reported previously but it would take an awful long time to check the thread but I'm informed that production on the D4 will stop in September.

Defo prefer the Volvo, my sister has the Q7 and it is bland bland bland, I wouldn't even consider it, whereas my mate has just taken delivery last week of the new Volvo XC90 T8 hybrid and its V Nice (mind you at £74k after he spec'd it up it should be)There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.

I was more referring to DSL's post with the undressed image which is probably a fairly accurate representation of the finished item, mind you I cant think of many vehicles that are flattering in bronze. There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.

Your optimism is encouraging but, realistically, how different can it look once the few remaining stripes have been removed?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)
