Also, the cut out recess across the bottom edge of the boot lid, which in the concept video appears to follow the profile of the pull out ''social bench platform", seems to be there in these spy shots as well?

Some of those cold weather test cars looked like they had a fairly decent tow hitch receiver. will be interesting to see what they do offer as that platform drop down could get in the way. Or you want the platform "accessory" you automatically end up with a electric swan neck costing another grand Big Cry

Most basic RRS is £52k +VAT. That doesn't even get low range...

Expect the D5 to mirror the RRS's prices.

RRSTDV8 - Basic RRS is £62700 Whistle

No point looking at vat as an optional extra Laughing

I expect D5 will start at £50k Confused

I would guess £47k start price.

There was about £5k difference between entry Fl2 and DS. Entry D4 was £42k before this graphite and Landmark nonsense so £47k would seem, to me anyway, a logical start point. Unless they use the pricing of the run out models as a guide in which case it would be £50k+ for a car that doesn't look overly inspiring looks like most Japanese/Koren SUVs.

I would have thought purely for marketing purposes they would want a model under £50k (inc VAT!)

Something like £49950 not including optional tyres, steering wheel, key to get in or paint. Laughing

United Kingdom 2016 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Auto Corris GreyDiscovery 4

My current thinking is

S = £50k
SE =£55k
HSE =60K
HSE Lux =£65k
SVO Edition =£75k
Hybrid (eventually) £75k

Options will cost a fortune so with tow bar, side steps and a few other bits can easily add £3k onto those prices. Fully loaded Lux will be over £70k.

As per DS but I fear your pricing might be pretty accurate.

If coil springs are on the table we could be looking at a much more basic model to hide the price increase vs an equivalent. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3

Having passed a lightly disguised one on the road this morning I thought it looked a bit ungainly Confused

Quite bottom heavy, with a tapered upper body. Almost like a Discovery Sport glasshouse sat on the lower body of an RRS.

It may just be a trick of the little disguise that was on it though!

This article contains some interesting information Thumbs Up

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-shots/lan...e-to-come/

Quote:
What’s the difference between the ‘luxury’ Range Rovers and ‘leisure’ Discovery models then?

According to McGovern, the Discovery family will increase its ‘premium execution’, which will move the new models closer to the Range Rovers, but also serve to broaden their appeal. McGovern says the utilitarian Discovery 3 proved quite polarizing, but the mid-life facelift that turned it into Discovery 4 (with a posher Range Sport interior and no more black plastic body cladding) was much more popular with customers.

To differentiate Discos from RR, the former will be much more versatile, with seven seats, lots of stowage space for families, and practical touches, whereas the full-size Rangie will only ever seat five and the Range Sport, at best, remains a 5+2.

Quote:
What about this new family of Defenders?

If the RR and Disco sit closely together, McGovern says the new line-up of Defenders will stretch out the Land Rover brand. ‘Discovery is getting closer to Range Rover,’ he says. ‘But the Defenders, when you see those coming, they’ll really bring clarity to the three-family scenario. They’re out there, a working tool, probably closest to the original Land Rover heartland, but still relevant.’

And whereas McGovern worries a utilitarian look limits the appeal of the Range Rovers and Discos, it’s less of an issue for Land Rover’s third family (previewed by the DC100 concepts, above). ‘For the Defender it’s something else. There is that utilitarian look, but it’s inextricably linked to the original so you get over it. The Defender is about durability – you kick the hell out of them and they get up for more.’
