Cue someone to tell us it doesn't matter because they'll sell loads anyway....

You guys seem to think LR are worried about a small minority of their user base.
They are now looking for real volume in the global marketplace, along with all the other manufacturers.

Tailgate aside (I'm still on the fence but praying) i like the proportions in those pictures. The lights look good too.
Maybe its the angle but I see no spare on this one, could be many reasons being a test car or do you think with the smaller engine variants it will be a repair pack to keep the weight down The small panel at the top of the low valence intreagues me. The tow cover will lower down and bigger so wonder what thats all about. emergency access to the automatic picnic bench thing for when it goes wrong?

You seem very sure that we're talking about such small minorities.
Apart from missing the point as CC says (which is that we don't really give a about LR's profits if they aren't going to provide us with a suitable vehicle), the business case is debatable too.
It is not true to say that business success is about writing off minorities. Every customer is important, and as I said before, it is only valid reasoning if LR have managed to secure the best possible compromise between their markets. It's seems likely to me (on what we can determine so far) that they could have done more for "us" without damaging their other sales, and their whole range has to be taken into account in that. It doesn't matter if it will sell well or not - if they are needlessly losing sales it is a poor show.

I do not disagree with what you are saying, but one has to assume that LR have done their homework and time will tell whether it will get marked 10 out of 10 or not .
It has to be said that radical changes do stir up the user-base though!!
Indeed, but it is quite funny that most of us spend our time cursing LR for their little foibles when our vehices go wrong or are annoyingly difficult to repair, however, as soon as a new vehicle is released, LR are sainted and can do no wrong. More often than not, the biggest failure is that of success. Without being rarely nerdy on the details (such as the top edge of the windscreen being a bit squarer) and without some kind of scale ruler, how are we going to tell a Disco Sport apart from a new Disco? It looks a bit like the relationship between an iPhone 6 and a 6 Plus.
Will there be some nice clear badging to tell them apart?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Front end is completely different to the DS, DS has dark indicators in the mirrors. Focus on the differences not the similarities.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Disco - light indicators in the mirrors, DS dark indicators in the mirrors. Got it.
