God those wheels are awful
In all fairness, I've yet to see a LR alloy (or steel) wheel that ISN'T impossible to clean easily. They are always clogging up with grime that you just cannot shift with any brush!
What you really want is a clever alloy wheel that does not have any slots at all yet can still ventilate etc! Now that would be a great LR clever invention....2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Mine get cleaned once a year, whether they need it or not.

Not to mention the classic D3 HSE 6 spokes. TBH, all the D3 ones are pretty nice and simple. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

I thought this car wasn't designed for old traditionalist dinosaurs like us?
These wheels won't be getting muddy anyway!

I emailed these pics to my parents, they have run a D3 then a D4 for 10 years, and their reaction was not favourable. Especially as it looks like no split tailgate. And they are as far from t'internet, mud loving, geeks as is possible to get. They'll prob try for a D4 or go elsewhere as they don't see any difference between the D5 and offerings from other brands, apart from the price.
I know LR will sell gazillions, but they could sell a lot more if they actually looked at what their customers (not just us) want, not what a marketing department or focus group say they want.

Everyone is assuming they will automatically sell loads.
Maybe they won't.
Maybe...

You never know..
I can certainly see potential buyers looking more closely at say RRS2 or used FFRR if the D5 isn't as rugged and practical as the D4.
I think the XC90 looks a nice bit of kit, so maybe buyers will shop around more that default to a disco, for a premium practical 4x4.

My dealer reckons the price here in Ireland will be "significantly cheaper for the base models" due to the smaller engines and lower emissions, less VRT taxation. So that means starting at around €50K which is good.....2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
