Has everyone seen this video. Apologies if it's been posted before:
It defiantly looks a smart bit of kit if it's fully optioned up.

Just watched that video as I hadn't seen it all and am bemused about Advanced Tow Assist, where you can use the rotary control to steer the car WTF is the matter with using that big round thing right in front of you to steer with, you know the "steering wheel"
Cheers Ian

It was explained to us at the Visitors Centre like this:
Reversing in the conventional manner (using the steering wheel) is counter-intuitive. Using the Rotary Knob means if you twist it left, the trailer goes left and so on.

Yeah, I can understand that.
Since we got a mover on the 'van (necessary to get it into the drive ) I've really got out of practice with reversing and have to take it really slow because of this. So I'd use it for sure

Thanks for that explanation.
I appreciate the move back to a rotary selector for TR (a positive!!). When I had the FL2, my first and second ones had the proper rotary selector then, when it went to push button, they mounted them flush, on a horizontal surface, where they got covered in "flat fungus*" and/or the switches got bits of dirt stuck around the edges for that crunchy feeling in use!
* Does "flat fungus" need any explanation?! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as โsecondโ cars ๐
2021 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

For some reason, I 've got Thursday 8 Dec in mind but I don't know from where or who that might have come from. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

I'm going to have a look at one at the dealers on Monday 28th November, not sure whether that is a production model or not Cheers Ian

They are all production models now
all new discos will be run on the same line as the RRS and the FFRR in Solihull
all the ones you see now were done in a batch recently
Dealers will have them temporarily (for a day or 2) on a sort of tour - eg Harwoods Basingstoke next Thursday
invite only Illegitimi Non Carborundum

had the factory presentation on Thursday
looks like an inflated Disco sport
build quality looks impressive (still not Merc and BMW level in IMHO but way up on D4)
back seat entry tortuous
Sat Nav still much too slow
Tailgate huge and does not go high enough for me (6ft) bloody sharp corners
Activity platform just in the way - no manual operation
Its not really a replacement for the D4 at all (there is not any real evolution) - it is in effect a 7 seat FFRR and as such the entry level could be regarded as something of a bargain
The Discovey name a useful marketing tool for LRIllegitimi Non Carborundum
