Basically the D5 has been hiding in plain sight since Apr 14.

Phew, i was dreading this day but if it does indeed look like the concept car then i know theres maybe a few more discos for me yet as I quite like it. Looks like theres still a stepped roof and the boot doesn't look to bad. The rear door looks long i wonder if with the c pillar when you open it overreaches into the boot space to make 3rd row access better that would be good and means it wouldn't be a smaller boot which it does look like if you take the rear door as where the boot starts.
Like the front looks like it might have a beefy presence to it.

The camo version definitely has a small step in the roof, but it's sort of disguised by the addition of full length roof rails, also covered in camo.
I like it - even with the Saab back end.

Well i hope so.
I will make a call to the dealers and see if they know anything yet.

I don't dislike it, it looks more purposeful than the DS, what I don't like is the inevitable price hike for all the tech that I won't use and all the trips to the dealers for software updates that come with it.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I have to admit if it has a split tailgate or similar option (sliding out platform) and has a decent petrol/hybrid option then I'll be trading my MY15 for one.
I wouldn't have had my MY15 in a diesel if I'd had the choice of a petrol.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Quote from the Dealer that I use:
"Still no details at all on D5 from LR. We believe it will be through late next year. Possibly Sept / October (but only rumours). We can take a deposit but have no details on car at this stage."Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Having been stood with the concept car in the reception foyer at Gaydon, all I can say, is that it's absolutely huge

Land Rover have always employed miniature test drivers to make the products look bigger than they actually are

Brilliant! I was worried it may be smaller
After seeing this I'm actually quite excited and if we are looking at early 2017 for deliveries the timing will be just right for me as it was a gamble going for the current one or riding it out with the previous. Showed it SWMBO and i quote "that looks nice when does it come out?" which i am taking as the green light to place an order when the time comes
Bigger + the seven seats hopefully means a bit more weight than the FFRR so could still be a decent tow car. Only worry now is the engine - please be a V6 Hybrid!MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Not quite sure what the fuss is all about. I was in California this time last year and saw a reasonable number of these on the road. They actually looked pretty good with enough road presence but obviously in the US they were classed only one step up from a microcar.
...what on earth am I talking about?
This...
The 2011 Ford Explorer. Isnt it great that LR are right up there with a modern, unique design?
Edit : Another gem from the same article.

The devils in the detail as they say but if the back end is the same as the concept then IMHO its a much cleaner and nicer design than the Ford and typical modern LR. Also far better exit angles ect.
