The likes of BMW, Audi, VW and Porche have proven that there's a much larger (and potentially more lucrative) market for pretend 4x4's than there is for the real thing. I wish Jaguar every success with this car
Absolutely Red... The market for a practical urban "wagon" is huge (suv). If they can have a "reasonable" awd capability then that's good enough and the rest of development time can be spent on making it work well on the road.
If I'm honest 90% of what we do with the Discovery doesn't need its off road capabilitiesMY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Plan would be to keep the D3 for taking old sheds to the tip, muddy dog walks, the odd day shooting. If I get an F-Pace it will be to replace the XKR, which isn't getting used at the moment as every road in to our village is awash with mud and/or leaves, which isn't great. An F-Pace 3.0 s/c would tick a lot of boxes for me, although I'll be making a point of speccing it with their version of active terrain response.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Don't say that about an XKR I'm probably going to get one next year to replace my recently sold FFRR as my daily motor. We don't need two big 4x4's and the family D3 has just been upgrade to a 12 month old D4 and I quite fancy a bit of mid life crisis

Single track roads in and out of my village, surrounded by very active farms. It was the same last year, a 5 -6 week window when I wasn't prepared to take the XKR out. Was fine once the mud/leaves had cleared, but lost a couple of tyres on flint in the mud when I ventured out before it had all cleared.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Hey, NoDoSh! I've the same problem here in muddy Cornwall. However, I still take my little MX5 out when the sun is shining and it does get muddy, but it doesn't take long to wash it, so it's fun in the sun in winter. And no, I still can't excited over the proposed D5! 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

I expect the price of an MX5 tyre is somewhat less than an XKR...Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Another 2-3 weeks and I'll be using it regularly again, don't you worry
And yes, it needs new rear tyres... again I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Agreed. We were getting a bit carried away. Still not keen on the proposed D5. Your pic of the XKR is ab-fab. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE
