I know exactly how you are feeling !
I picked up an 08 90 Puma XS brand new on the 1st of March and I got a mile down the road.
I dint see it again for nearly 3 months, in the end I had to part with it as everything that could have gone wrong went wrong ?
Let's hope yours is turned round quickly and you get back in it soon !
Best of luck, and in case of future recourse start a diary now and send correspondence to LR retaining a copy in case you need it for later.
But state now that you are un happy and want to opt out, even if you want it now you might not want it in another 6 months ?Only dead fish go with the Flow !

Dealer has just called to say there is a "technical problem" with the gearbox.
Land Rover are send a Technician out to look at it but they may want to take the vehicle back to base and they may just replace the gearbox
they are swapping the FFRR for a Disco tomorrow.

It was a pile of parts only a couple of weeks before. Maybe the dealer can put it together better than the factory? If Solihull (or gearbox co) had put it together properly there wouldn't be a problem.
From Sale of Goods act:
If you buy a product that turns out to be faulty, you can choose to reject it which means you can give it back and get a refund.

However, even with major purchases or complex items, it’s safest to work on the basis you usually have no more than three to four weeks from when you receive it to reject it.
Your rights are against the retailer – the company that sold you the product – not the manufacturer, and so you must make any claim against the retailer.
However, the Sale of Goods Act doesn’t apply to goods you've bought on hire purchase (HP).
Instead the Supply of Goods Implied Terms Act 1973 applies, which makes the HP company responsible for the quality of the goods supplied and gives you slightly different rights.Cheers Ian

Firstly the dealer will only be worse than LR...if for nothing else than they are not used to it - not to mention incompetent!
Secondly yes it was a pile of parts, but individual parts joined together once, will never join together as well a second time
Thirdly the process of work causes damage, again it can be repaired, you may not know, but that isn't the point
Fourthly part of a new car is the new car, you pay a premium for the smell etc...after its sat around in parts for days its a second hand car that's broken - its soul gone.Mike

I would say a fault after 1 mile is reasonable grounds to reject the car. Even if it isn't, I would put your intention in writing sent by recorded delivery to reserve your rights.
The dealer who had my car in for the best part of 13 weeks did try to tell me that their guys would put it together better than the factory because they "double check the torque settings" etc. needless to say, it has a really annoying rattle, used its first unit of oil (by the electronic dipstick) and just doesn't feel right.
I think these days, I'm tempted to be much more militant with dealers and reject things first and let them persuade me otherwise. At the end of the day, they don't want to lose the VAT that we as buyers have to stand the minute we accept the keys.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
