That is indeed the part mate you absolute legend !
Got dads Jeep Grand Cherokee in the garage at the min, he bought it cheap as chips, it has an issue where it won’t start when hot. Changed the starter motor as the solenoid clicks but no beuno. Apparently. It’s a huge bill as the engine mounting has to be taken off to get the starter out. Pah. Jeep mechanics obviously never worked on a D3. Had it done in 2 hours. Easy. Lol.
Got a day spare Wednesday so the disco is back in for side steps, intercooler, rear hub bushes etc. Also need to do rear brakes now as left caliper is binding and epb has been a bit stuck once or twice. Just waiting on the calipers. I haven’t managed to get another spare hub just yet so i’ll Just tidy up the one side and fit the recon one wyn generously donated me
Had new gauntlets off guyson so I can get the blast cabinet going to do the hub and front lower arms also.
Busy days ! Can’t wait though. Jarrod

That’s good ur gauntlets turned up and as u say at least u can get on with that now
Great thread and keep the piccies coming plse as I indeed bet u can’t wait to finally get it resolved
Will keep an eye out in case u need more parts

To be honest mate it was easy. Wheel off, arch liner out (4x rivets, 2 screws) then there’s a big hole behind the strut tower for you to get your arm in, jack under engine block, 4x bolts out of mounting and slacken the main bolt, it rotated out of the way. 2 bolts on starter and wires and it was out ! Easy job.
Indeed always greatful for your help and input mate ! Really appreciated.
I don’t think it will ever be fully resolved they keep throwing new challenges up don’t they.
Can’t wait to get it running good though. Got so much I want to do !
How is your back now mate any better ?Jarrod

Hi mate
At least it sounds a lot easier than doing wishbones
Indeed I bet you’ll be pleased to get it running again
Haven’t used mine for weeks now, just got it plugged into the CTEK, didn’t want to just start it without giving it a decent run , will make sure I check the engine oil level before I restart it and maybe cycle the glow plugs a few times
Still in a lot of pain, am really getting so bored , I’ve even been looking at some 4K tvs, LG and Sony look quite nice , nerves keep firing where they’ve been killed off further down my back into my leg, brain ive been told has to relearn which takes time, am thankful though I’m not in a wheelchair so very fortunate , that’s why I’m being extra careful in not undoing the last surgery
But seeing the disco on the drive is so much temptation , but know I mustn’t touch it

Hey buddy.
Agreed take it slow ! Mine is much better now but not in the same league as yours ! Speedy recovery mate !!
Where did you get your harness from after ? I’m debating getting a full engine harness myself as this injector thing is bugging me. I’ve swapped them around, fitted a new one in injector one, swapped it for injector 6 etc, new seals, etc etc and the idle data stays the same. Rough idle when cold and loads of white smoke but then fine on idle. So strange. I don’t know how the management system works but I feel that it’s something else and not the injectors themselves. Ongoing head scratch that one.
I’m going to compile a list of what I want to do soon so I can start making inroads into getting the bits I need for the mods.

Hi mate
Many thks and indeed just going to take my time with recovery , suppose it will take as long as needs be
Got the loom and fuse box off eBay , the injector wiring isn’t on it otherwise I would have sent it to u
I’ll see if I can find out the part numbers for u ref the injector harness and indeed imagine that’s frustrating trying to pin the fault down with so much electronics involved
Thought I saw something about injectors , will see if I can find it for u
Have u blanked ur egrs already , apologises can’t remember
Will be interesting to see ur list

Ref the fault code
Looked it up and comes up with
P0263 - Cylinder 1 Contribution/Balance Fault
Possible causes
Dirty Fuel Injector 1
Faulty Fuel Injector 1
Plugged Fuel Injector 1
Fuel injector 1 harness is open or shorted
Fuel injector 1 circuit poor electrical connection
Injector harness looks like part number LR006465, but sit down as it retails at £1200, can u bell out the existing loom wire by wire to ensure it’s sound

Hi mate !
Wow you been busy !
I’m thinking wiring as I know it’s not faulty injector. I’ve tried a new one and a good known second hand one etc. I believe it’s wiring related.
Sorry to sound like a fool but what do you mean Bell the wires out ? Continuity test is it ?
Crikey didn’t realise it was a separate harness. The plot thickens eh.
The pipes are ok I think.
I’ll have a nose in the morning to trace the wiring through. Jarrod

Hi buddy
Well I’ve got to keep myself busy
Apologises , yes belling it out by using a multimeter set to ohms to check each wire is sound , also thinking could there be a bad connection / pin where it plugs into the main engine loom inc the pins on the injector loom and at the ecm
A long shot , wondering if by having the water in filter fault if it could also throw up the number 1 error
Like when I had that issue in the MAP sensor when it wasn’t 100% pushed in place , know it’s a huge long shot ref that sensor and an afterthought
By any chance Have u tested the low pressure fuel pump at the shrieder valve
Hope that doesn’t come across as disrespectful in any way
I’ll see if I can find out any more in the mean time for u so have abit more to go on tommorow morning

Hiya
Another thought , have u tried running the engine with an external diesel can, to eliminate the fuel tank fuel
Plus are these ur injectors plse , thks , Siemens 4H-2Q-9K546AEG1-UHF
Is it right the injectors between an EU3 and EU4 are different , EU4 HPFP runs at higher pressure on a 07 , not 100% on that though , suppose I was just thinking to ensure the injectors were indeed EU4 because of the year
I’ll get my coat

Hi budd,
Please don’t think anything is disrespectful ! You never know what one person misses or something. I haven’t tested the low pressure fuel line,
The water in fuel has only cropped up this week, the filter is a new genuine one. Changed a few months back, the injector fault has been there a good while. More or less since I’ve had the car.
So I set the multimeter to ohms and then.... please excuse me. Electronics are not my forte at all !
