Had to set mine to 27-28 degrees to keep it warm, took it back they fitted new sensors and reset it, seems ok now.
Get a Bodsy's remote fitted, you can start it warming before going out. L633 Defender

My 2014 HSE Lux is the same - it has to be on HI before it gets warm in the vehicle and when you turn it down slightly to 26-28 it only blows Luke warm air

My 2016 graphite works exactly the same as my 2012 XS. I do find it strange some some older and newer both have the temp problem, yet I don't, 21 - 23 is just fine. It normally takes 7-8 mins of driving to warm up, 2 miles to motorway then 2 miles of motorway driving and it's at mid range. FBH comes on below 6 degrees and isn't smokey like D3 version for some reason Joined the BMWX5 45e group

There is a bulletin concerning irregular temperature in the cabin , related to the HVAC system.
It is LTB 00963. I am trying to get a copy and /or find out the VIN range affected. The poll for it and some details are included in this post.

I think I found a fix. Keep on auto and press the feet and face blowers and keep it like that.
When I do this the blowers don't start as soon as I turn the car on (the windscreen blower is the one that seems to be always on despite blowing freezing air), only come on when car hit and get car nice and warm even when set to 21.
Seems to work for me anyway, not sure if it works in any other combination of blower settings.

I meant that the blowers only come on when the car is warm and blows warm air. Which is a first for my MY16 D4..

Hi Somerset bumpkin. I've tried to do what you suggest and , as I thought, when I hit the blower direction buttons they do not light up. I can't use them until I take it off auto. I have an MY16 HSE. Perhaps yours was set up differently?
Cheers Gary

When I hit the blower buttons it automatically switches it off of auto. I take back what I said though, it still blows cold air first thing in the morning

First decent run today since having sensors change and heating reset at dealers. Didn't use park heater before set off, so car blew cool till engine warmed up, then seems to control how it should
No more hot then cold, just same temp with A/C on or off (manual or auto). L633 Defender

That's good to know thanks for the update philm. I will book mine at next service for LTB00963 (HVAC update) to be done. It appears to be the insertion of a piece of insulating foam ! Gary

There was a very similar problem in early D3s and a similar solution - a little foam cap over the sensor behind the dashboard fascia. TSB LA412-003. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
