can't get warm in this car!
The heated seats work, the steering wheel heating works, but it takes a long time for the car to get warm after we got in it. Just heaps of cold air blowing at you. Whereas our old peugeot gets things warm in seconds.
Is there a fault somewhere or is this normal ?
We're basically freezing our behinds off until 30 minutes in. Even then if we turn the engine off it's cold in no time again. Shouldnt the heating work regardless of engine being on or not ? What if you get caught in a snowstorm?

Only the FBH will provide heat other than the engine - cant see what model Disco you have or whether you have a remote / timed FBH.
On a D4 FBH will kick in on starting at c.9 degrees or below, Air con on Auto and sufficient fuel
Cant remember on a D3 but recall it kicked in at a lower temperature
Only the engine will really heat the cabin unless the FBH has been upgraded
Is temperature dial moving upwards? - if so, something isn't right

Mine was very cold and took it in to get the fixes for the outside temp sorted. It now reads correct - it was about 4 degs high
Its now warmer but on Auto it just kicks heat out on the floor, to get it to blow in to the cabin I have to select the controls manuallyD4 HSE - Aintree Green

Im no expert, but experienced heating issues in my D4.
Few threads on here will give a more detailed analysis, but due to the poorly placed/operational internal thermostat, it thinks its hotter than it is behind the dash so with the climate control blows in cool air round the cabin to compensate.
Happens all the way to the top of the range, so only way I can get mine warm is just to keep on high and switch the fan off when I start cooking. Last of the D4 HSE...

just to answer a question: it's a 2016 landmark d4.
Something's not right, no matter we turn up all the knobs it's still takes 30 minutes for us to freeze to death before it gets warm(ish)

something not right there , i would get that back to the dealer
my MY 14 D4 does seem to take longer to heat up than my D3 did but not overly long 5-6 mins max
main issue i have is that on longer journeys it feels cold on my right hand side and sometimes i need to put the blower on side vent to stop getting a cold right leg and arm .
one other irritation is on the timed climate the max setting is 20 mins (same with remote) so the car is never as warm when i get in as my old D3 was which i could run for 30+ mins with the good old BAS kit
im told its a battery protection issue and cant even be altered by ID tool or similar MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

Just throw it back at the dealer & say "fix it!!!!!". That's what the warranty is for.

Yours sounds not right Our MY11 XS D4 throws hot (and I mean hot) air out of the vents within a few minutes - and we have it set on AUTO and the required temperature set at 21 on passenger side and 20 on my side. The FBH will kick-in in cold weather at around 6 degrees when starting the car - we do not have remote for it.LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

^^ - that is really not right - after 30 mins - you should be toasty
Even on coldest days I have mine set at about 24 - anything hotter and after 45 mins I'm melting

Funny you should say that Mark, my XXV shows exactly the same symptoms! Looking on the IID, there is an update available for the HVAC, but I haven't done it.
This wasn't a problem with my MY13.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

ok good to know. I think we will take it back. 30 minutes, i haven't timed it but compared to our old peugeot it's ridiculous.
Now we have a nice car but we freeze in it haha.
Thanks all.

I have to set the heater to 26-27 for it to be warm... higher than other vehicles i've had
The problem with mine is it gets warm.... then after about 20-30 mins it blows cool air again.. the very top vents and round the legs.
It's going back to dealer next week, but i'm not holding my breath.
