Seriously? I thought it was just the HID kits that were instant fails

Unfortunately he said any none standard lamp fitted.
So hids, Leds. I asked about the reverse Leds I was fitting not being part of the mot and if he spots them it's a fail.
I was very surprised not dine any further research to check though

Maybe you could ask your mate what section the new LED rules are in.
I've just had a look at the draft of the new MoT inspection manual and there is nothing in it about LED's being a fail. It actually lists LED's as a suitable light source. (for other lights, not mentioned in reverse lights) (Section 4.6)

The way it is here is:
- LEDs are always ok outside the vehicle if the whole module is designed for LEDs and the LEDs are E marked (approved)
- LEDs are never ok outside the vehicle if you’re replacing a halogen bulb with a LED light source without changing the module even if the LEDs would be E marked (and most aren’t)

The old bus was dropped to my indy this morning and he is going to
-change the compressor for an AMK unit
-check the AC because it does not work! Hopefully a regas will sort it
-check the gearbox is no longer leaking
-check the engine bay oil leak has stopped
- change the lower aux belt and tensioner
That will keep him busy today!

Very happy to pick the Disco up this morning
Compressor works perfectly with very smooth operation. AC is the coldest I have ever had in any car, deflector fitted under the scuttle panel to stop water getting in to the pollen filter housing, new lower aux belt and tensioner fitted, gearbox and engine no longer leaking and finally the bloody towbar is off!
Looking forward to washing it and driving it over the weekend

Git out in the car over the weekend and it feels the same but safe in the knowledge its got loads of new bits on it.
This morning get in and yellow suspension warning light is on and upon setting off it turns red with a speed restriction. Very annoyed but the new compressor is much louder than the old one and I'm getting thid whoosh of air every now and then from the rear after starting the car and lowering from raised height. Going back to my indy but apart from replace the compressor not sure what he can or will do!

Feeling like the car needed some love following the compressor issues this morning so had the new alloys fitted. I think they look great but shame the rear is sagging!

Stick with it. Mine had compressor on last trip. It's now being collected for no PDC working and air con not working plus replace EHB cable to drivers rear brake. Apart from the work which the dealer is sorting, it's a great car. Very airy and comfy. It's not the sharpest drive but I didn't get it for that. Despite the long list of issues people have, it feels like it will get me there

There are a few different styles of side steps, just Google Disco 3 sidesteps. For other items try PowerfulUK, I have had a few good bits from them.1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

Picked up a third row rubber mat and a brit part boot liner from forum members recently so good additions to the Disco. On the negative side the heating is not working so need to try and work out what is wrong!
New wheels are on and look brilliant with the old ones sold to a forum member.
AMK compressor seems to have settled down and no issues but still need the software updating.
I have hired a detailer to give the interior a proper clean tomorrow so hopefully it will look and smell factory fresh by the time he is done.
