Quick update. New compressor has been spot on and no more issues since fitting. Probably just sensors getting used to a brand new part! Heating had stopped working andthe coolant level had dropped a little so topped up and bled and heating perfect again. Need to keep an eye on why the coolant dropped but after a 50 mile drive today it was level so all back to normal for now.
The whole car has been shampooed but the boot carpet smells like wet now dry dog so have bought a product called airvidox (some kind of chlorine gas is released and kills the odour) which I will use tomorrow.

Having a good look around the car after it was cleaned I noticed my front mats have fixing holes in the middle but the fixing peg is fitted in to the carpet in the middle!
Were there 2 different mats for the front with different fixing hole positions?

Still on the hunt for single hole front mats but have another problem. Driving down the A3 last night and saw the temp needle rising toward the red zone but before I could stop the red light started blinking. I slowed right down much to the annoyance of everyone behind me and then turned the car off when safe to stop. Waited 10mins and drove off again and the temp needle stayed in the middle at 30 or under and limped about 4 miles home and called the AA out this morning. Coolant was empty so refilled and after an hour there were no leaks and temp spot on. Going to my indy tomorrow in the hope the engine is ok

Check the plastic join bit in the V, they can leak enough to loose water gradually with no steam visible, or catastrophically and dump all yer coolant in seconds.

Bear in mind I'm not a techie and may be talking rubbish. I get very worried when nobody either agrees or disagrees with me!

So garage has had a look and it's the water housing between the two heads with a knackered O ring chucked in for good measure. Look how filthy the air intake housing is! Back on the road later today with any luck

Had a little free time so added a private plate courtesy of the forum and after watching a few how to videos opened up the headlights and set about removing the indicator strips. Just waiting on the chrome bulbs to arrive from Advanced factors.

Am thinking about steering wheel options as afger 157k mine needs to be replaced or retrimmed.
I'd love a D4 upgrade but the cost of the wheel and the BBS kit is £££ and I ideally want a heated wheel which is even more ££££!
The one in the pic is nearly £700 but perfect.
Any opinions on part wooden wheels? I've never had one before

Whoops...may have just bought D4 painted arches and all the bits to fit and the 2014 black LED lights. The Powerful UK website is a dangerous place!

A quick before and after of the rear lights. Totally transformed the car. Will be adding a colour coded tailgate handle and D4 rear bumper soon

Had a very relaxing cruise down to Devon from London. D3 felt totally at home munching the miles and it's the most comfortable I've felt doing a long drive.
One thing I have noticed is that on braking from 70 the steering wheel is shaking and can be felt quite strongly. Hoping it's new discs and pads needed on the front bit will worry about that when I'm back.
