Looking at your route I drove that road from Jonkoping and then headed down the east coast road and found some amazing sandy beaches. I had driven from the Norwegian mountains in one hit after three days of not stop rain. I was surprised by how "Mediterranean" the Baltic beaches were!

Read some good Scandi Noir books last year. They were set around Linkoping. Beware strange people in dark forests. Laughing
2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Well that's well worth the short detour off the E4 if heading too or from Stockholm. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Now I know why they didn't want me as a fighter pilot. This the first time I've sat in the front seat of a proper fighter

and boy is it a tight fit, reminds me of 4 days drive with knees in the dash bringing Dark Bluie bits home last year:

I don't know why all the pics are so dark, everything looked fine to the eye, but where the lights shone on the aircraft the pics were massively too bright. Some fiendish Swedish cammo paint. Thumbs Up

Del, if your using an IPhone to take your pics, just before you take the pic touch the actual subject on the screen your trying to photograph. Backlight will adjust to suit. 👍

Tried that, flash on, flash off, anything I could try I did. It was weird. The the Bo105 in the centre, it had a light on it and to my eye it looked normal green cammo, on the screen it was like in the pic, absolutely shouting light.

Anyway, I've adjusted what I could adjust and here's a few pics for the fellow aviation fans. Thumbs Up

Another shot of the Sea Knight

Twin seat Griffen sporting Mavericks, an eclectic mix

Gorgious Mustang to keep the Spitfire company

Can't beat a bit of Huey

Catalina as in the Catalina Incident when the Rooskies were a bit trigger happy. Again sorry for crap pic. Banging Head

Bit of a bigger Draken than the "one" I sat in

Great looking Viggen, looking after his young nephew, the Grippen

Cute little MiG-15, unfortunate reporting name of Faggot. Shocked

Unfortinately not enough room indoors for this ex-RAF ESW Canberra, its not in the best of conditions and could do with coming in doors.

And lastly, back on the E4 and clocked these two cheeky chappies making a bid for freedom!! Laughing

Oh, and view from the hotel room tonight, a bit of an improvement on last night. Thumbs Up

Only down side of those lovely paths is I'm off running on them before breakie tomorrow. Prob only do a leisurely ~6k, depending on whether I get lost or not. SWMBO suggested I run around the lake. No, it's a piggin big lake! No rest for the weary. Thumbs Up

PS and a MEGA Bow down Bow down to Pat@GAP for giving us the km/hr in the digital speedo whilst keeping everything else in old money/imperial. It's been an absolute life saver with all the speed cameras on Swedish roads.

And Rolling Eyes to LR for not being ar$ed to even put the km/hr band in the main speedo.

Morning chaps!! Tis a boooooootiful morning, run done (shorter than planned), breakfast being enjoyed and watching two Swedish footie pundits do their thing in Swedish on the TV. The latter is more interesting in Swedish!! Laughing Laughing

Not a long day today, up to Umea for the ferry to Finland tomorrow. Going to go via that other aviation museum that I didn’t get to yesterday. For those watching the blue dot crawl north:

Great pictures and videos. You are upping the minimum requirements on write-ups for road trips. Looking at the tolls for the bridges makes me think the tunnel tolls during my trip were quite reasonable.
