I hit a load of traffic at the Antwerpen ring road 😫
Tell me about it, it's always bad there. I took a different route up to the ring, coming off the E40 at J17 and avoiding the E17. Not as bad as the deals around Arnhem, that was well gridlocked though Suzie guided me round it pretty well. Gotta love Google Maps.
Yeh I’m used to it there. The girlfriend and the kids however weren’t 🤦♀️ Sat in it for about half an hour and then non stop until wassenaar where we’re staying.

Nicely tucked up in hotel, about the right distance today. Great drive in S Sweden, the E4 is superb and hardly anyone on them. Here’s a taster of the view from my office for the next couple of days. Compare that with the M25 and M6 on a Saturday afternoon.
Got a few pics to download, will get on the case.

Pics from today's travels.
The usual 3 bridges.
The little free one:

The Great Belt Bridge in the middle (£29 )

And as the skies brighten, the Ostersund Bridge to Malmo. £51!!!!

It's the law to cross these bridges with Jean-Michel Jarre pumping out his Bangin Toonz, well if it's not it should be!! Here's this year's vid, the Great Belt Bridge.
And last year's offering from the Ostersund Bridge.
Today's Bangin Toonz was an eclectic mix of Jarre and Redgum.
At least I've found a use for the satnav, it's good for telling me what country I'm in. Well for about 3 seconds.

Here the road signs promise so much:

But I'm not sure this is what they had in mind!

That's all the pics got today, I was going to eat out but raided the fridge instead. And no, that's not just beer. Honest!

Right, now my brain is back to working(ish) order, trying to get to the bottom of this Fuel Fellow issue. The App works great for Sweden, these 3 I bunged in from seeing them on way to hotel.

But I can't get any data at all on Finland. Nothing, nada, naff all and diddly squat.

I made sure I'd uploaded it from the Finnish site, not Swedish, and been through every setting.
Plus the website just wants you to get the app. @kajtzu, do you have a link I can use?
I'm officially confused.

And as a minor aside, the World Cup as seen on RT18.
France, no sign of it, but i wasn't in France for more than about 40 miles. Belgium, one beat up old Golf with a couple of subtle Belgian flags. Netherlands nothing, but that's not really a surprise. Germany, one lorry with a flag at the back, about half a dozen cars (not just in Germany) with German flag wing mirror covers, plus everywhere in Zee Micky Deez in Quickborn. Denmark nothing and Sweden nothing.
The point of this is I've been travelling during the WC before and footie was all over the place like a cheap suit, but not this time. Bit like back home, only seen one car with St George's flags, that's it. ISTR last WC the DVLA had to put out warnings about them. Nothing this time. On TV there are the matches but previously we had to put up with months of pre-amble. I still the world bored of footie, is it coz they don't like Vlad (Visit Russia before Russia Visits You) Putin? Curiouser and curiouser.

I’ve never used it in Sweden but maybe it wants you to be in Finland to show Finnish prices. Only idea I have.

I wondered if that might be the case but when I first opened the app & signed up I left location services = off, in case it wanted me to be in-country. Got Sweden but not Finland. Switched LS = on in N Germany, same. I'll see how it goes once I get to Finland, will message the app peeps in the meantime to see if they know, hopefully hear back from them Monday.
First world problem as I admire the somewhat industrial view. Mike Oldfield's live Tubular bells is competing with the seagulls.

For me, the iPhone app doesn’t show anything for Sweden. Even in Lapland it just shows the stations on the Finnish side.
Seems the socialist kingdom of Sweden has more expensive diesel than we do, I’m shocked. Not by much but still.

Vaasa has a lot of stations, it’s a semi-large university city after all. Lowest right now is 1.379 e/l at Shell Meijerikatu 15.

Got down for breakie 10 mins before it officially opened expecting to beat the 6 coach loads of Chinese tourists, no chance. Fascinating watching them totally destroy the buffet, poor staff working like slaves to restore the supply of food. Interesting to watch but boy can they leave a mess. Why put egg shells on the plate when you can put them on the table, for eggsample. Strange, orange peel & mellon rind went on the plate, eggshells on the table.
Nice easy day today. Stop off at Swedish AF museum at Malmen http://www.flygvapenmuseum.se then cross country up to Gavle then up to Böllnas for next o/night. Will prob stop at this small aviation museum , mainly coz I’ve never seen a twin seat Viggan in real life http://www.soderhamnflygmuseum.se . And lots of looking for those elusive mooses. And as it’s Sunday the Swedes will be out with their vintage American cars, always a great sight.
