Yes mine do work, when I use the car controls the icons pop up on the screen and I usually do the adjustments from there. I have read on other forums that some units don’t have the relevant coding.Like you said it’s not an issue.

Yeah looking good and really changes the feel/age of the vehicle when you're inside.
Will be putting a launcher on either CWG or Nova, not sure which is best at the moment.
Looks like it might also be easier to get a USB data sim rather than use the personal hotspot on my phone.RLD CB Bracket

So far after one trip into work and home, everything is working as expected. Can’t find anything which isn’t working like before.
Got some finishing off on Saturday to do and then hopefully as part of that can do some pictures and write up.RLD CB Bracket

BTW, all the buttons which were physical on the removed section are replaced as screen virtual ones when you go to the Console which brings up the Land Rover screen like it was on the previous LCD.
Andy has mentioned quite a lot of this already, so apologies if I'm repeating anything.RLD CB Bracket

...Well am not getting the £600 headunit from China.
Having answered questions on wether it was a Capacitive or resistive screen, (determined it was a Capacitive screen), and photos of centre dash and main menu. I was informed because it was a 'Capacitive' screen they could not supply as they only did for Resistive screen protocol.
How true this is, I do not know. But from their Ad on E-bay they seem to suggest it is not an issue except for the 'GS model' screen.
Back to the drawing board....

Update from my testing....
Managed to get installed 90% during week and needed to complete GPS and USB. Few bits of feedback to date before i do full write up.
Installation was a piece of cake and much less cables on Disco 4 then I have seen on YouTube videos for other makes, one of the easiest upgrades I’ve done. The main of the upgrade I did in about 40 mins or less including some messing around with config.
GPS - signal inside the cabin of my D4 HSE 2012 is near enough non existent, like due to the heated screen I think. With this in mind you either need to do what Andy has get some additional leads for linking to LR Fakra or use supplied GPS antenna and try it on the dashboard or preferably get it outside on the roof (may need extension cable). I’ve got the splitter cable Andy mentions but sourced an alternative converter to move from SMA to SMB connector. Delivered tomorrow. At the moment GPS on CarPlay or Android is bad.
I found a problem with audio in that the unit when altering balance/fader thinks rear speakers are front. I’m also not sure anything is coming out of rears. Just found this so need to check.
On a more positive note everything is fantastic, screen resolution and quality is amazing.... really good. Screen size is amazing and using a launcher like Nova or GWB really makes it even better.
I found a USB 2 port extension which I’ve used to replace one of the accessory sockets, again piece of cake to do once you have the accessory socket out of centre console and allows direct link of those ports to the two on the Android unit. I’ve tried a few USB keys I have with divx and mpg videos and they work fantastic with built in video player and VLC (better codec and video quality).
Once I sort the GPS connection to LR/Disco aerial this will near enough be factory standard installation. Just need to investigate audio. The supplier has been really good on What’sApp so not expecting any problems with help from them.
With regards the AirCon control from screen I found it currently is not possible but could be available in future firmware update, took all of 5 mins to get feedback. This is a zero problem to me as I don’t intend to change via screen anyway.RLD CB Bracket

BTW the splitting of the Land Rover Screen and linking to Android unit was again a piece of cake on my 2012 screen. 4 very obvious screws only, a quick flick of a black clamp and that’s what it, 2 mins and I was back installing in car 😁😁👍👍😁😁.RLD CB Bracket

^ from what I know about these screens and what the upgrade involves I think your proposed purchase should work just as well as dgardels as you have the same setup. There wasn't (IMO) any big changes in any hardware screen functionality after MY12 models with rotary gear selection. Have you got links to what you are looking to buy (sorry if posted already) Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

^^
^^ From the discussion with the Seller "carxtruck" they told me the 'Capacitive' screen I had in my 2014 HSE D4 was not something that would work with their setup....(though their Adv. would suggest otherwise).
They only covered Resitive screen protocols apparently?
I did get a full and immediate refund thankfully. But I am sure they changed their mind about the £600 offer they accepted originally.
