Urhunden,

The link works fine in the UK.

I tried it earlier and again after reading your post.

Maybe try going into AliExpress and searching for “2din Android 10.0 Car Radio For Land Rover Discovery 4 2009-2016 10.4 inch Vertical Screen multimedia player head unit GPS Navig”

I have my eye on this one. I didn't like the fascia on the other versions of the tesla screen but the volumn knob etc makes it look much more integrated i thought

not my pic - from facebook

I agree it looks good, you want to make sure it retains the original Land Rover information system.
Some if not all of this type are a full replacement for the entire head unit and were meant for vehicles without original infotainment units. I have been trying to get information from suppliers, but they give conflicting answers.

Thanks Andy for the headsup. Is the LR info system on the higher spec motors? Mine's just a GS.

Pembrokeshire - lovely area often over there myself as that's where my wife is from Smile

Do you have a link for that one? I have the version without the knobs but would be interested in looking at that one a bit more.[/quote]

Hi, it's available by a facebook ground - "UK Light Modifications". Lee Yates is the guy in charge. They are part of the LR Facebook group and come to you to fit but do seem to offer assistance if you want to fit your self.

I have been trying to get information from suppliers about the compatibility of this model and it’s not easy for various reasons not least the fact that they don’t seem to know themselves.

This is what Navihua’s rep said

If you never had four wheel drive info screen, sat nav etc in the first place, then it would not matter.
Maybe someone has fitted this version and can comment.

I don’t know if this has been done before but I thought I would share anyway.

I didn’t like the Aux cable sticking out the back and into the AUX port so made up an adapter using Breadboard links which fit perfectly into the AUX plug when you disconnect it.

Cable routed inside the cubby box round to the back of the Aux / 12v Socket, a bit of Tesla tape to hold everything in place and it works a treat and its invisible

Well, my new screen has arrived and I have now installed it following all the excellent advise in this thread. Well done guys, you made the job of installation real easy.

Getting it installed is one thing, getting it setup is another. I think I'm mostly there save a couple of minor configuration issues. These are:-

1. Despite changing the speed unit to MPH, the dial on the home console still shows the speed in KPH.

2. Despite choosing "Driver on the right", the Door Open warning is showing the doors on the wrong side.

3. The air conditioning and heater controls screen does show correctly what ever I have set using the dials but I am unable to make any changes on the screen. Am I supposed to be able too?

I'm still playing with the unit so may come across further little niggles as I progress. Currently busy googling to see what I can find out and will post back if I manage to sort these issues.

If anyone does have the answers to the above I would be glad to hear from you.

Other than that, seems a fantastic unit and so far I'm well pleased with it.

Thanks again to everyone that took the time to write up the procedure and get me this far. Much appreciated.

Hi,for the doors go to installer settings,,666888ok and select “right side on”,save and reboot,or you can disable it.
As for the steering wheel controls,if you want to change things you should select Learn mode.
Experiment slowly and note all original and changes so you can reverse them

Neilh57,

Re 2 see above - worked for me

I have the same issues with 1 & 3 and have just taken a couple of videos to send to Yanav for a solution. Will keep you posted.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

I did read this earlier but cant seem to find the Installer settings anywhere. I'm obviously looking in the wrong place.

Any tips?

I'd be pleased to hear what Yanav says about issues 1 & 3. Please keep me posted.

Do you have any other unresolved issues with your that perhaps I haven't come across yet?

Cheers again

Neil,

It’s in Install Set - password 666888

Additionally, the balance fader is wrong - real controls operate the front and front do nothing.

The termp sensor shows 0C if you turn it on (in settings)

I can’t tweak the steering wheel controls to use the phone ones with CarPlay

I would also like a mute button somewhere as its not as easy to turn the audio off with the button in the top corner.

Have sent some of these to Yanav too.

Thanks for that Gadgetnut.

Now managed to change the doors round.

Have you tried loading a different Launcher at all and if so could you give me any pointers on how to do this and what is the best one? And, how I would change it back to stock Launcher if I needed too?

Neil,

I have tried CarWebGuru launcher but still learning it. It’s mentioned a couple of times on the forum.

Looking good to me but I am still trying to find a way to add a mute button !

You can download it from Google Play

If you need to go back to INDEX then its settings, more settings (goes into Android settings) and select default apps and change back.

I bought my system off ebay and it arrived last week {7 day delivery from China}. Just fitted it and so far it's performing really well. I also ordered the splitter cables for the GPS and DAB. Can any of you tell me how to get my phone call and end buttons at the bottom of the screen. I just have the phone logo at the screen.

Hi,if you are using CarPlay, your phone app will be on screen, I have never used Android auto but that’s probably the same. You can install a new android launcher app like Carwebguru which will allow you to arrange icons as you please.
The Bluetooth phone app in most of these devices seems to be installed in the mcu and not on the android system,it can’t discover other Bluetooth devices and interact with them.If your looking to add stuff like IID app,it probably won’t work.

I received the Fakra splitter cables for both GPS and DAB. Can I ask which is which on the original cables and also do I split the cable coming from the original radio or is there cables going into the CD unit.
