I did have a conversation with the eBay seller which went off at a tangent - why on earth did they want photos of the original faulty tank ? - all i had asked was did they ever have any DOA units before i went to the trouble of dismantling it all to check the wiring. after 2 or 3 emails, they just went quiet and i haven't had the energy to chase it further.
Is the sensor normally open or normally closed ? probably need to know that before i start piddling about.

Drat. Spoke too soon.
That fix didn't work. Will now replace the whole tank with the new one and hope that it was an issue with the floating float.D1 300Tdi - gone
