Hiya Baben

Christian is indeed being kept VERY busy by his slave driving boss releasing upgrades for the MSV-2 Whistle
However we are all team players here so I took this job off his hands.

Here you go Thumbs Up

The 4 connections are for Illumination, Plus, Minus and Ground.
Of course each paddle only needs Plus or Minus, hence they only have 3.

BTW the loom is available seperately and not expensive (YET !!!)

Looneyfitter
It is actually a 4 (Not 6) pin connector for the Paddle switches loom connector as detailed above and the 3 pin one is for the Heated Steering wheel ECU connector.
They fit in the plastics just as the origionals do and so make it a no brainer for anyone with Paddles or heated wheel variants

Both Main PCB's also have a 10 Pin connector (2x5).
On the right hand side this is for the Heated steering wheel control sub Board.
On the left hand side this is for the ACC sub board currently only fitted on the RRS.
However in a really innovative move i have designed this such that this connector is also used for the Transmitter module used for the Flappy paddles which in turn has another 10 pin connector on that module which makes it a pass through module in the case of a vehicle requiring both paddles and ACC.

maplecottage:
As stated this is a conversion that allows you to fit a 2010 on steering wheel and switches from a D4 or RRS to any D3 or pre 2010 RRS. It requires no software upgrading unless you are adding Cruise at the same time which is really a seperate matter.
It should also work on a Freelander 2 but due to mounting boss shape differences you cannot swap between RRS/ D4 wheels and the FL2 one.

Many thanks to all for your kind comments and appreciation of our efforts with this, as you all know it has not been an easy or quick job for us by any means.

Hey Colin

What great quality stuff. it really does just snap into place. Well done
Thanks for the picture of the cable, it explained it all
I made a cable in 5 minutes, connected it all up, and although I have lights on the "-" and "+" the paddles don't seem to be transmitting. The blue light on the receiver is flashing and when I press my garage remote it stops flashing, so I guess that means the receiver is working?

All the other buttons are working perfectly.

Anything I can check? Have I plugged the radio transmitter in properly? Or have I broken it?

many thanks in advance

Thanks to Robbo, I've done 4 years of catching up in one evening!

A massive well done to everyone who was involved in this project... Truly amazing!

Looks like I caught it just in time too... I don't want to miss out on the discount offer!

Looks like I'm going to need a D4 Steering wheel! Thumbs Up

Hiya Baben

Many thanks for your kind comments of appreciation.

I made sure my picture included all you would need Whistle

Right from the very start, this project has presented unforseen degrees of complexity and problems on both the Electronic and Physical levels that needs to be absolutely 100% right and goes some way to explaining why it has taken so long, has taken so much effort and required you chaps to be so patient for which i thank you all for.

But I never gave up and finally we are here, now producing and supplying the result of all that hard work and effort.

Sorry to hear you have some problems with the Flappy paddle part of your conversion where ids did not.
As you can tell from all other physical aspects, a huge amount of thought and effort has been applied and as such, by design, I have made it so that if you do not correctly position the TX board it will not fit into the plastics. However it is pretty common sense to check that all 10 pins of the socket are covering all 10 pins of the plug Thumbs Up

I know you have been in close contact with Christian today via E-Mail about this problem which we have as a team delved into deeply today, and I will add my own reply to this shortly to assist.

Thanks Colin

I can't honestly say I didn't cock it up all by myself, in which case I will buy a new radio module.

No worries Baben.

Thanks for your honest input

However some things are much bigger than worrying about who is to blame and who should cover the costs involved. We are after all on the same team in wanting and needing a solution and AFAIAC thats all that matters and we will happily work with you to sort this no matter what.

And there you go again Colin.............showing exactly why we are happy to deal with you and BBS for your business practices. Thumbs Up

I have patiently been following this thread with interest. This is another mod I am desperate to add to my D3 upgrade. I am finally going to start this later on towards Christmas. (Seems like we've been talking about that for years too) Unfortunately funds are too tight right now and 4 new tyres to keep my family safe are taking priority however when I put my other Camaro project up for its winter pause. I will be back and ordering this from you for sure. Very well done Very Happy

Hope you are well.

Hope to catch up soon

Kind regards

Kyle

Whilst it may look like the factory nav, its actually a 7" touchscreen connected to my CarPC. I used a broken one, removed the guts and replaced them with a decent screen.

Its running Windows 8.1, with Centrafuse (centrafuse.com) and a k8055 plug in project board. I use it to take analog/digital in/outs from/to the car....... one being from the steering wheel controls.

Just to bring this up to date then as much seems to have happened of late and the info has become spread out over a lot of posts and to avoid reading the whole thread:

1. These little circuit boards, when bought, will allow a D4 steering wheel to be used in a D3 and to do that you only need to buy the £107 board. Does that sound right?

2. Next, if you want to use a flappy paddle gear selector ( auto only ), you need the D4 steering wheel, £107 board and the £104 add on that works by radio trickery. Does that sound right?

3. Lastly, there's a heated wheel option for those with heated D4 steering wheels and for that to work too, you'll also need the £25 add on. Is that right?

4. If you want cruise control to work too, there's another £25 board.

Have I understood that correctly?????
