I paid about £550 labour for lower front and upper rear arm replacement at my indy, and bought all the parts separately from TLO. So 9 hours labour just for the fronts sounds a bit much.Previously:

Just had mine replaced today. Mobile mechanic, just started out on his own, use to work for main dealer but got fed up with always lining their pockets. Anyway, cost for N/S & O/S front bottom ball joints replaced £80 labour (I supplied the parts). That is almost similar job to what you have been quoted for.
My point is the price he charged was fair for what he did, if you want his details let me know. Travels to you, van is well kitted out and he knows his stuff, was recommended!Live Life Adventurously!

mate.....it wasnt ball joints beinbg talked about here it is wishbone(or control arm suspension bushes or complete arm)replacements thats the problem............
Just bought a full set of lower arms (front & rear) plus a/r bushes & a full set of suspension bolts from TLO for my RRS, came in at £560 iirc. I use armsonae independant in Leicester for all the work on mine and he reckons a day to swap the lot, then alignment the following day. With a new set of bolts we'll just be chopping the old arms off, at £70 for a set of bolts it'll likely save far more in labour costs than the bolts (albeit £70 for a set of camber bolts did make me wince).
Front lower arms were £120, rears £91. It's not worth about for that kind of money.
TLO though BV55 YZE, ex G4 Challenge RRS. So not a Disco 3. Well, not quite.

Buda - Yep understood that, my point was if your doing front arms the labour involved is very similar to lower front arm ball joints!...in fact it's the same amount of work....
Also my point was to share who I used, and if this could help anyone else then that would be worth sharing.Live Life Adventurously!

I thinks that arm and a leg territory
I paid £515 (Trade) recently at my excellent LR Indy (Ex Main Dealer) for:
2x Lower Suspension Arms including Bushes
Fitting the above arms
Fitting 4X Uprated Coil Springs in each corner....
Without the Coil Fitting the cost would have been about £250!!!

TLO though
Thumbs Up
Yep, just one man can make quite a difference.
Mind you it has to be the right man, and time and time again TLO has stepped up to any such challenge.
It might only be a few percent discount, but sometimes that makes all the difference, especially if you also figure that you may as well replace the whole arms as pigging about with individual bushes.
I tend to get into much wierderr stuff like European VS JAP spec looms, But TLO has never ever let me down.
He does not even wear his underpants outside of his trousers like any regular superman does !!!!
Regards bushes, most notably used in AR situations, i can tell you from personal experience that if you don't wear them out from usaage they will require changing anyway from age.
I just changed all mine on a vehicle i have owned from new that still has lss than 12 K on the clock.
Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the bolts ?

Hi all,
I've just been quoted £700 for the local L:R Garage to replace the front lower arm bushes, they said they have to replace the arms as well as they "muller" those as they are getting the bushes out. My beef is that the warranty company is saying this is not covered as it is normal wear and tear. The car is 4 years old (D3 2.7) and only done 44k.
I've phoned LR customer service and they are looking at this.
I'd welcome anyones experience of how long these bushes actually last, as 44k doesn't seem very much
cheers

Did the rear tie rods myself - approx £50 from TLO

thanks for all the responses
the initial replies suggested that my £1000 or so was a reasonable price but the later ones make we want to go and get another quote
is there any urgency to get the bushes done? They're not a actually that bad - just knock a little on particularly rutted tracks'06 TDV6 HSE, Java, Black Leather, Logic 7, Privacy, Steps
