I have the same problem as you, if I select terrian respons, then I get the same no difflock and also not showing in what mode I am in, it will show my gear sellection. I have also noticed my trip indicators is not recording anything, is that normal or not. I have done the brightness upgrade with the diode and it works perfect, I have no issues. I will get my bluetooth module tomorrow from Wiggs and will do that installation tomorrrow, will let you guys know how it works.

Cheers

I'm guessing that my missing icons are just a different (earlier?) firmware than most.

I've just recieved my FaultMate, but haven't really played with it yet. Flashing the screen firmware seems a bit steep on the learning curve for a first project.

I wonder if it's possible to aquire the software tools (LR or Denso?) to recompile the firmware. Then it would be theoretically possible to use the D3/LR3 screen brightness "software module" with the RR mode firmware. I suppose if it was as easy as that, somebody would have already done it (or the tools are just on lockdown from LR/Denso)

Works good. The screen brightness seems OK for now, not too sunny today. For me having access to the radio screens is nice. However, I seem to have lost the Terrain Responce and diff lock icons on the 4x4 info screen. Anybody else noticed this? I have the 2011/2012 NAV disc installed - if you think that matters.

PhyrraM, I noticed the same thing as you mentioned, my 4x4 info no longer displays correctly.

Did you ever find a solution? I'll live with it as is, but curious on what you may have found out.

FYI, I also have an 06 HSE LR3, USA spec of course.

I have not experimented with it further.

I was going to use my new Faultmate to do the nav-on-the-move updates on the next free weekend. I wonder if the final software version I choose for the touchscreen will enable the missing icons?

Hi v8Louis

Nice job, also I have solved brightness with other solution, using pin located on the left.

Make some test, and runs ok. Only there is to much brightness during night and then you have to set it.

SantiD3,

If you have a Faultmate, would you mind posting what software version you have installed on the screen to be able to see the Terrain Response and diff-lock icons in RR mode?

SantiD3, 1 question that some of have, when you done your upgrade did you loose any information on your 4x4info screen, in your picture everything seems normal, in the above treadfs you will see some of us have some problems, did you had to do anything or not. My car will go in on the 17th Desember, but this guys does not have a faultmate but the logitech system, do you know if this will work?

Cheers

Just done the RR mod with the brightness fix using a the diode & overall it works as expected. I know there's been a few reports of it locking up following the mod, but it's locked up each time I've used my phone (connected by a D4 Bluetooth module) in RR mode - its when I hang up the call either from the phone, the steering wheel switches or the display. I also seem to have the 'bits missing' on the 4x4 info screen (not desperately worried about this bit, but it'd be nice to have it back).

I did put a switch so I've switched it back to D3 mode for now as I need it working for the morning, but if anyone's got any ideas why it locks up after using the phone I'd appreciate any clue's?

Hi there SantiD3

Yes before i done the upgrade the 4x4 info worked fine, so I suspected that it have to do with the software version, me and the other guys have in the cars, So if you don't mind finding out what version you have then we can try and download it.

Your help will be much appreciated

Regards
Pepe

Just noticed something - on my 05MY the 4x4 Info display has three blocks in the middle, the Home softkey, a long Terain Response indicator and a square HDC indicator as in the picture below:

However in the other posts (like pepekleinhans post shows), there are four blocks in the middle - the Terain Response is split into two - I'm guessing this might be a quick & easy way to tell which software version is running? When I switch to RR mode, the long Terain Response indicator block disapears, but from pepekleinhans post, his doens't.

As far as I'm aware, mine's not had a software update done (for example the 3-flash indicator doesn't work even so I've switched them on with the Faultmate). When I get five mins I'll plug my Faultmate in again & see what version of software I've got on mine & let you all know.
