Done this with my own 54 HSE.
Only issue I have is when I reverse, it goes to the camera screen.
When I go back into drive, it stays in reverse.
How do I fix that?

It's supposed to stay on the reverse screen for so long, this is so if your doing any manoeuvring it's not continually switching on and off as you select reverse and then drive.
Mine stays on for 10 or so after I take it out of reverse

Exacly, is not an issue.
When you remove the reverse gear, the screen still in rear camera for about 10 seconds.
For this reason, the best is take the power under ignition and not on the reverse light otherwise you have a black screen

I do have plans to fit a reverse camera to the car so that’s handy to have.
Is there an issue with the phone contacts freezing up when trying to scroll through them?
Mine is a bit hit and miss for being able to scroll through.

Can’t get the yellow wire to stay in the block - doesn’t clip in like the white one did. Afraid if I keep trying it’s going to snap off!
Which way should the barb point when inserting? Or any other tips?

Sorted - think it’s the angle of the dangle required

Mines still not bright enough even with the screen on full brightness. Taken it to bits and checked all the connections as best I can with the sensor now glued in place. Doesn’t seem to react when I place my finger over the sensor or shine a torch on it.

Does anyone know if the settings can be changed for the camera?
Mine works well but its black and white and zoomed in when I select reverse. If I go into the screen diag mode I can make it colour and zoom out a bit (wide2 would work perfectly) but I can’t seem to save those settings?

no you can't save the settings.
If it's black and white I suspect you have purchased the wrong format camera.
The zoomed in part, is one of the limitations of the RR mod.

I'd like to do the D4 screen fix for phone use on the main screen and I also want to plug in my reverse cam. Prior to getting the car I had a GVIF sent to me. Will the GVIF also work in D4 screen mode (hopefully not cropping or stretching the picture as it appears using the FACRA connectors does) and will the screen automatically select the correct source (GVIF) if I disable the reverse cam with the IID?'

Not 100% sure about what you are doing ,but.
A GVIF will not crop the reverse cam.
The GVIF needs a connection to the reversing light wire, so it selects the camera.

Hi Pete
Perhaps I should word the question a bit better....
If I go down the GVIF route and I have the header unit in D3 mode, then when I select reverse I'll get an uncropped view.
If I go for the FFRR mod and plug the camera directly to the header then I'll get a cropped view, but only in FFRR mode, not D3 mode.
What happens if I fit the GVIF as per normal instructions on here, but then decide to have the header in FFRR mode?'

If you fit a the GVIF (with Rear camera connected to it) as per normal instructions on here, but then decide to have the display in FFRR mode you will get the full picture.
As you say, you will need to set the CCF = Camera not fitted
Your talk of D4 confused me
