Oh really, Disco_Mikey?
In the TSL video the demonstrator puts 300KG of weight on the unit in a continuous
manner, without stopping and without taking the pressure off.
I wonder if it's got anything to do with the fact that Amsoil also sells
oil, rather biased informational video isn't it?

That amsoil video is only testing engine oil ! Not additives ? Bit pointless really ? Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

We don't see any TSL being added, mentioned or shown in the AMSOIL video either.
Nor any other kind of additive. Just general engine oil.

If I wanted to add this to the engine outside of an oil change cycle, would it be as simple as pouring it in or would I need to drain 250ml of oil to do so? (Seems like just adding would be wrong...)

You would just pour it into the engine without taking any engine oil out.
TSL becomes part of the engine oil plus some engine oil generally is lost by consumption.
It is recommended practise to add it to the engine straight from the bottle.
Hope that answers your question.

Hrm. That does seem wrong (although I'm not a mechanic - far more at home on the electrical side of things!). 250ml of liquid won't just "disappear" - if it merges with the engine oil, it will increase the amount of engine oil by..250ml! Yes, some "is generally lost by consumption", but if my engine currently seems to have exactly the amount of oil it should do, this would put it over by a quarter of a litre. Is that enough to cause serious problems? Probably not? Putting more strain than necessary on the seals? Maybe?
Here's a Wiki article describing what could happen, I would argue, if oil starts seeping through the seals:
Of course the chances are probably quite low, and this might not be a big enough increase to worry about, but...am I wrong?

250ml is not a significant change on 5 liters of oil.
If you want to be sure check your oil level prior to adding TSL. If the level is somewhere in the middle of marker than you are more than safe to add the 250ml.CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

good point regarding the overfill of fluids and possible problems, but I think if done at oil change time then the savings can be worked out a little better as you wont be using as much oil .
as to the argument on the test being set up to fool people into purchase, yes I put the link up showing how they do the one arm bandit (saw it on the right from one of the other links) and I wasn't seeing it as additives but with oil, and I was surprised that an oil company that wants to sell oil would say dont use that as proof of how good any product is. it's a hard one to decide on; however as long as there are no harm at a mechanical level and there is a measurable improvement in MPG then it can pay for itself
another question I would ask is if these products are that good why are the oil company's not formulating their products to contain the same properties.Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!
