When StephenO originally posted that Castrol Actevo 2T was on special offer @ £4.25 in Tesco, I went into our local Tesco Extra where it was priced at £5.90 on the shelf - better than ADSA @ £7.50 but still too pricy IMHO.
Today I checked again as I needed more this week; I bought one litre hoping I would find a better price in due course. At the check-out I was charged £4.25, and when I said that the shelf price was £5.90 I was told the computer was updated with special offers, but often the shelf prices were not updated.
Accordingly I went back & bought their remaining stock - only 3 bottles! However they said they would have more stock in a few days.
I then visited Halfords ony 100 yards distant, to check their prices as a matter of interest. They said that the price was £8.99, as on their website, but they didn't stock it as there was no demand!
I pointed out that Tesco's price was £4.25 & they had sold at least 4 bottles today. The response was Tesco's pricing is keener than ours, which is probably why we don't sell much!
The message, try your local Tesco & query the shelf price if it is more than £4.25 per litre.

I thought the FC oil was previously in the silver bottle? But looking today at Tesco the FC was in a black bottle.
The Actevo 2T FC oil was always in black bottles (for the last 2 years anyway) but has just changed to a silver bottle. The reason I know is when I bought mine the other week there was only 2 black bottles on the shelf and the assistant went to get more "fresh" stock which was in silver bottles, exactly the same as the 4T bottles which could cause a bit of confusion.

My local Tesco's garage stocks it at £4.25. They only put 2 bottles on the shelves, which I then buy and they restock a few days later, which I then buy again.
I've done this 4 times now and have 8 bottles in stock but I cannot persuade them to stock more due to 'low demand'! Tried to point out that I have bought every bottle they have put on the shelf so far but they do not get the hint!Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Had been to Tesco's a couple of times this week and shelf price £5.92 so didn't pick any up.
Then saw post by NJSS so called in today, just the same so i had someone check the price, £4.25 so bought a couple.
haven't tried this adding 2 stoke oil to fuel yet but sounds good.

Was down to my last bottle from my Asda bulk purchase.
So today I popped out to take Mrs ronp shopping at Tesco in York.
Had a look on the shelves in store, but no Actevo.
So when we got to check-out I popped across the car park to the filling station.
Low and behold a shelf facing of Actevo, there were 6 bottles ...... but not anymore.
So, anyone popping down to Tesco in York for some.......... ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Sorry to resurrect this but just back from my local Tesco and surely this must be the best yet, Castrol Actevo 2T for £2.96 a litre! Needless to say I've now cornered the market in my neck of the woods and should have enough to last the life of the Disco!

Seem to remember a tip about using an empty Redex bottle (250ml)....that would make the ratio more like 300:1 on a fill-up.....am I getting confused( I know its easy) ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Appart from the first 2 fills I use 330ml per tankful, so 3 fills per 1L bottle.
Brings the cost into the 'reasonable' category.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
