I use it. Other than quiet down the engine i cant really see any other advantage on my d3. My 300tdi however was like I had flicked a switch after half a tank. It really quieted down and felt smoother and better pick up. Really was much improved. I don't think it does much in a cubustion sense but as seems to help lube the fuel pumps in my humbike opinion. But with evidence for and against it seems, like a lot in life it's our own preference/gambe to decide.

I was

On the fence on this.
Using since Christmas - converted.
No mpg
But engine like sewing machine.

I used other additives so why not this one too ?
Always prepared to learn - hopefully not the hard way.
Thanks to those on here for the direction.
 BREXIT - done properly.

I've used two stroke oil in my 2009 Disco 3 for 4 yrs now, 90000 odd miles now and as said many times before on this subject it does make the engine run quieter and I believe smother, it also produces a lot less black reek when I sink the boot. I do run an injector cleaner through it every six month or so but whither it needs it or not I don't know. My car has a cat only no DPF filter. 2 stroke oil costs me about £16 for 5 ltr's. I use Comma Mineral Two Stroke Oil API TC, JASO FB & ISO L-EGB. If you have a DPF filter you would use FC. The way I look at it if the engine puts out less black reek it's less likely to clog things up, I recently done both my EGR valves and they were Fairly clean, not much soot in there at all. I did phone Comma oils to see how much zink was in the oil they told me it only had a trace of zink and it's the zink that's supposed to clog the injectors up. But it's up to yourself whither you use it or not. Rolling Eyes

Wullie.

2 T Oil

Regarding the choice of the 2 T oil to add to the diesel I tested with a pint of oil to check the mixability with the :
a) SHELL (Mineral price € 9 / Liters)
b) SILOKOLENE PLUS (Sintetich) price € 25 / liters
with both not I've been problems or separations over the 24 hours now
I would like your opinion on which oil to use and what percentage on a full
Thanks Peter

Do not bother with the 2 stroke. Do you have access to Shell or BP premium fuel? If so use this-much the same result or better and far easier to manage.

Wifes Juke loses a few mpg in winter, apparently winter fuel is a different composition to summer fuel to make sure it stays usualy down to -15c.

Noticed all or vehicles at work also lose around 2mpg from November through to March and thought that it could be down to the anti waxing. additive but no one took it seriously.

Hello,

Anyone know where I can get the right type of 2SO, I use basic non synthetic in my 200 TDI to keep it clean. I just don't want to put the wrong stuff in the 2005 Disco 3. A link to OpiOils or something would be great.
