No More Yeovil Trips..... |
|
Was a bit surprised to find the Yeovil have discontinued their Disco3 pricing and that I now have to suffer local dealers

If I recall, I believe I was the last to benefit from the old price about a month ago, seems the boses are looking at % profit per tech and also being hammered by all the warranty repair audits by LR
Seems we guys are no longer needed, RIP Yeovil

I still have lots of time for THW - always have good service from them if a little bit more sometimes. But hey - I can walk to work from there!

Why does only giving locals discount make more profit, because nobody else will bother coming from a distance then. I can see the warranty audit issue, but it's easy to explain to LR.
Won't this mean a reduction in sales of new cars as part of the incentive was the service levels
As long as TLO looks after us I don't mind
EDIT: TFC is a good price and he comes to you as well.

What is meant by locals? YLR is about as near to me as any other dealer. Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done
Discovery HSE MY16 (good apart from the heating), now sold
Audi TT Roadster (wow)
MGB Roadster (owned since 1992)
Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE MY08
Saab 9-5 Aero 2002 (gone but not forgotten)

Rather than speculate, I am sure Nick will be along at some point to put matters clearer, if there is any need to do so.

you can't "explain" high warranty claims. Land Rover simply withold payment - and we're talking 6 figures here.
Rather than speculate, why not let Nick investigate when he's back in on Monday? I spoke with him as he was driving back from Gaydon and he needs to check a few things before he responds. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

When I said easy to explain, I meant it is easy to show why there are high warranty claims. Whether LR listen is another thing. Do people only go there for warranty work or for servicing and warranty work ?.
I wasn't speculating or being critical, I was only asking a question.
