ok, so i'm out the office on LR business for a copuple days and i get a forum memebr call me to warn me on this post
Quote:Yep and Doug and told only locals get discount now. For a 60k service £150 more than my local and while i trust them I ain't rich.
i have not spoken to anyone on this
Quote:thats a shame - does the same apply to parts ??
I was going to ask them to quote for a new car as well. Never mind !!
i call the shots on parts discount, i run the department and i'm telling you i will not pull discount or support for the forum on parts purchases, if something is different in service then i will be finding it out on monday and report back to you, have i not always been upfront
Quote: Seems we guys are no longer needed, RIP Yeovil
i'm surprised and upset that some people would think that TLO has left the building.......

Nick, you still have my trade , service due in April, so whether I come there or use Iain, all the kit is from Yeovil.

it was me who posted that. I pm'ed you the other day for a 60k service price, you replied telling me to ring Doug direct. I rang Doug about 4pm today and he said the words above. He said that Yeovil had done a cost of the Disco3 business and you were making no money so no more Disco3 prices, except for locals . His words not mine. He quoted £490 for a 60k service. I checked with my local garage and they quoted me £341.

Nick, you know I love yer loads down their and by no means are my comments directed at you or the parts dept, I will happily purchase anything I need from you, but was left with the distinct impression that we "not local" guys were not needed in the service bays given the new management approach regards profit, even though I would not have any warranty claims.
Hourly rate was quoted at the typical "everyday" rate and no budging on attitude given the short service intervals and consistant loyalty.
I feel a bit of give and take by the management would have/should have gone a long way and whilst I respectfully accept that some forum vehicles have taken there fair share of warranty work, the majority of us would have loved to continue to support the service dept if a middle ground could have been brokered instead the announcement to me when being presented with my bill, "that we're no longer offering discounts to disco3 forum members" !!!
I think in buisness there is a well known view " you dont hiss off the people on the way up cauz you may need them on the way down!!!"
There I've said it, but I still love you even if service dont lov me

I knew Nick would look after us, I have him on short dial for all my bits. As I said not being critical, just surprised that's all.

I'm more than happy to pay full price for a yeovil service
But that would be because the service is very good - and I just sign the lease company paperwork "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

It's funny that alot of the words of support so far are from "locals" or those who have or are buying parts. I too will continue to buy parts from Nick for as long as Nick will be there, so how many years till you retire?
So if you're given a figure of £115 per hour for the service of yer D3, would your reaction be the same
