Also hooked her up to the D3 and I think it is looking pretty good but really need to build some doors

I need some advice too:
I am going to put a shelf in above he sink and cooker but I can not decide how low it can go? What is a good distance above the sink/ burners? Has anyone got any suggestions/ could someone who has built one already have a measure for me also depth? As for the shelf, what do you plan to use it for? Example.....if cereal boxes, then drop the shelf low enough to take the height, if you get my drift you could also put a heat shield under the shelf, piece of your spare cladding perhapsIggy/Ieuan

Just some storage boxes probably. I am just worried about it blocking the cooker and sink etc

So I knocked up something today to see how it would look with the shelf in. I have made it lower so that it lines up with the front shelf so it is seamless not sure of it is too low though but I can add shelves in if needed. Once everything is the same colour. I will hopefully get a coat of MDF primer on soon

Re the shelves, with my cooker, I notices that the inside of the Sankey roof got quite hot when gas was on, but this went away when you had a pan/kettle on the hob. So you may be OK Iggy/Ieuan

You could Allways get a bit of stainless sheet with a lip bent backwards on one edge then screw it under the shelve unit over the hob would help deflect it.

Ye I think I will have to see how it goes. Some sort of heat deflector may be required.
