Hi RedMerle
The full fat is just a bit better in almost every area. That's not to say that the Disco isn't a great car. I'm surprised how economical the three litre is in the FFRR, especially on a run and it's a nice place to sit. The 4.4 SDV8 is good but for me the 3.0 is plenty quick enough, economical and far more refined and cultured than the V8.

It's stupid but some people actually like a dark interior, stupid I know but that's life
I had cirrus on my DS and the grime was easily seen, OK it didn't take long to clean but it still needed cleaning more often than the black interior.
If cirrus was an option on the D5 I would've thought about it because it did look nice but I'm not into Almond or this new Acorn/Ebony interior, it's just too beige for me but each to their own. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I've had black, almond and Ivory in the LR leathers and my favourite is Ivory in most colour applications. For many years I was very apprehensive about choosing a light leather but now it's my preferred option, especially with dark coloured exteriors. Use AutoGlym leather cleaner every month or two and it looks great IMHO.

I have black and at 11 years old still looks pretty good without any regular (ie about three times in that time) treatment and theeeeennn......???

Hi RedMerle
I drive a D4 and the senior partner drives a 2014 FF 3.0 which I get to drive regularly. Both are fantastic cars but in terms of the positives for both:
D4:
Much larger boot (especially if you have to transport those large plastic bins)
7 seats
Feels smaller than the FF
And it's square shape easier to thread through town
Less worried about scratching it off road
Larger front door pockets
Less complicated heating controls etc
Does pretty much all the FF does especially in HSE Lux guise
Bigger split tail gate for picnics
FF
Very relaxing to drive
38-40 mpg on regular journey
Rear seats more comfortable but middle cramped
Great place to sit
More movement in the seats
Auto tail gate opening
Just a general feeling of quality (which of course you get with the D4 but this is more premium)
Panoramic roof
Power delivery is quieter and feels
my D4 it is wonderful however when I'll change cars the FF will be high up on the list.

Not sure why we are comparing the D4 to the FFRR in a D5 thread
I've been invited to go and see it again tomorrow night at the VIP centre in Solihull...I hope that there's a different atmosphere and bits of the motor that actually work this time. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

The legroom is far more reasonable than the D4 ...the centre seat gave the appearance of being smaller as it is now part of a 60\40 ...but even with my width it didn't feel cramped across the bench. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

It's probably because the D5 is now FFRR money, but then again I'm not sure why we're discussing the D5 on a D3/4 forum?
