Yes it has proper recovery points. Surely people would check before making a statement that it hasn't, otherwise what's the point of posting?

Yep it definitely has proper chunky recovery points
one thing to watch out for, dealer showed me the way they worked on the demo car it seemed like with the electrically deployable towbar you had to screw a tow eye into a receiver behind the little plastic cover higher up in the bumper but they showed me picture of the big chunky one wth the fixed towbar.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

In the handbook
Fixed tow ball or no tow ball
Chunky/proper recovery point
Electrically deployed
Screw in thing
Trailer hitch or multi height
On the tow bar itself
I've been swatting up as the dealers have yet to have product training

I asked the dealer the question. Got a vague non-commital answer about the rear end, what of the front?
Still waiting for a comprehensive answer. And yes, I do take my cars off road no matter how expensive.Tony

I hope so. Not what the salesman told me, though he clearly didn't know. He told me that you had to attach a frame at the front
Just read the Telegraph's apology piece for the D5 and watched a 2 minute video of easy off roading shot at low angles to disguise how flat it was. Nothing there remotely challenging. Do they not use Eastnor any more?
Most interesting bit was the 'full and frank' internal discussions about the new design. Clearly it's not just us Disco diehards who are not impressed.
Maybe a video of proper off roading will come out later.Tony

As I said last week, I don't think that Dealership salesmen will be able to answer in depth questions about the D5 until they have been down to the factory for their 'familiarisation' course. When the D3 first came out, I was told by a salesman and a LRE instructor, that the FBH was there to heat the cars fuel, not heat its coolant ? They hadn't been on the 'course' at that point either
J77 do you have a link for the owners manual, info etc ?

Probably why this one was on the A9 on Saturday, looks like it had been doing a bit off road.

Strange when the vehicle has been on public display that they are still disguising the front and back end ??There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.

Maybe coz the cammo improves the rear end view, it is a bit of a abomination.
